Techland's zombie action-RPG Dying Light 2 has released a brand-new update, fixing a ton of bugs found with the game's most recent content drop. The overall player experience for Dying Light 2 continues to improve all the time, and this latest update is another extension of that.

Despite recently celebrating its second anniversary, Techland frequently continues to update the game with quick hotfixes and bigger content drops. Just recently, the massive Firearms Update for Dying Light 2 was released, bringing a bunch of new quests and rewards into the game. This coincided with the release of the Reloaded Edition, which allowed players to catch up on all the content they'd missed between launch and the Firearms Update. It's undoubtedly been a busy period for the studio, which, with each update, continues to reaffirm its five-year commitment to Dying Light 2 support.

Dead Island 2 May Have Laid Down the Gauntlet for Dying Light 2

Dead Island 2 and Dying Light 2 both share a long rivalry, but recent moves by the former have laid down a serious challenge for the latter to answer.

The 1.15.3 update is available across all platforms, bringing a bunch of fixes to one of the best co-op zombie games around. Crucially, this patch doesn't bring any new content into the game, and is instead dedicated to simply fixing bugs introduced by the Firearms Update. These aren't exactly a glamorous element of the game's second anniversary celebrations, but it's a necessary patch all the same.

Some of the bug fixes to the Dying Light 2 Firearms Update are retroactive to existing saves. For example, anyone who lost the Tolga and Fatin quest items due to a bug will receive them upon loading up the game. On top of the bug fixes are some interesting balancing tweaks, including the addition of more weak Biters to the AI population. It'll be interesting to see if Techland plays with this balance any further in future updates, or if it feels it's in the right place now.

While it's great to see more fixes for any remaining bugs in Dying Light 2, players shouldn't expect the updates to stop there. Last year, Techland released its 2024 roadmap for Dying Light 2, highlighting the studio's commitment to bringing even more free content into the game. While some of what was outlined arrived in the form of the Firearms Update, some features are still missing, such as the planned Nightmare difficulty. It's unknown exactly when Nightmare will be released, although it is still penciled in for some point this year.
