As with its predecessor, Dying Light 2 Stay Human allows players to traverse its open world with the kind of fluidity and speed that's often lacking in open-world games like Far Cry. This is thanks to the game's Parkour mechanics and how well they work in conjunction with the environment. Even the paraglider that unlocks later on in the game makes traversal a breeze in Dying Light 2.

However, even with this in mind, Dying Light 2 is a step up in every way, but it's a big game with a large map that provides the kind of verticality and density that compares to the classic Assassin's Creed series. Only this time the densely packed city is crawling with undead creatures that only get deadlier at night. So activating and making use of the game's fast travel feature will be high on the agenda.

Unlocking Fast Travel

Activating Dying Light 2's fast travel feature won't be unlocked until the player reaches the Downtown area. This means that it won't unlock until around 8-12 hours into the game's main story mode.

The Downtown area contains Metro Stations and some will need to be cleared out of zombies before they can be activated.

There are 9 Metro Stations to unlock in total, but the first two stations called Holy Trinity and Downtown Court will unlock automatically after completing the "Let's Waltz" story quest.

This will allow the protagonist to travel between two districts with ease. Here are the steps to unlock the game's first Metro Stations:

  • Begin the "Let's Waltz" quest by going to the Dynamo Car Factory.
  • Complete the story of the mission without forgetting to collect the bow.
  • With the mission completed, Aiden will find himself in the Central Loop.
  • Open up the map and the Holy Trinity and the Downtown Courtroom will be available for fast travel.

Unlocking The First Station

With seven more Metro Stations to unlock, it can be a time-consuming endeavor. However, having as many fast travel points available as possible will make traversing the map so much easier.

Dying Light 2 Downtown Central Loop

The first station that one should unlock is the Hayward Square Metro. This can be found in Downtown Central Loop and is marked on the map in white. The entrance is boarded up, and the underground station is packed with zombies that need to be cleared out, but the rewards make it worthwhile.

It's up to the player if they want to make it their mission to clear out the stations first or unlock them as they go. But be prepared for quite a challenge as the undead will attack in large numbers causing problems within a confined space. Keep in mind, however, that Dying Light 2 is a game that's designed to be played with parkour being one of its biggest strengths. Don't overuse the fast travel feature and miss out on the make of the game's secrets.

Dying Light 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
