Artifact items are some of the most sought-after gear pieces in Dying Light 2. Like in most other loot-oriented games, these tend to have the best possible stats for their type. Players who want to maximize the potential of their builds will want to have as many pieces of Artifact gear as possible. The biggest problem is that these items are incredibly hard to come by.

Artifact weapons and armor come with up to five different modifiers. Wear enough of these, and players will have enough bonuses to make any of their builds shine. However, farming for a complete set of Artifact gear can be tedious and time-consuming, especially if players don't know where to look. Luckily, one specific spot on the map makes finding these items a breeze.

Where to Farm for Artifact Gear in Dying Light 2

Underwater airdrops containing rare loot in Dying Light 2

Artifact gear in Dying Light 2 is usually found in and around POIs like GRE trailers, Military Convoys, Bandit Camps, and Metro Tunnels. It's a good idea to pay these side areas a visit whenever they're nearby, but those who want a more efficient and reliable way to farm Artifact items will want to stay clear of this.

Instead, once players reach the Central Loop in downtown Villedor, they can head directly south of Garrison and into the flooded neighborhood of Newfound Lost Lands. There areabout a dozenSunken Airdropsbelow the water, and they each have a chance of containing an Artifact item, whether it be a weapon, armor piece, or consumable. Players can get up to rank 9 items from Sunken Airdrops regardless of their character's current rank.

On top of that, this area also has five Inhibitors that are close to each other, making this method extremely valuable for everyone who is yet to finish Dying Light 2's main campaign. Just follow the map above to get to all the airdrops.

The best part about this farming route is that Sunken Airdrops reset every 15-20 real-life minutes. After opening all the chests, come back later to do it all over again. This is great for replacing broken weapons or for collecting spare items to sell to vendors. Just be sure to bring plenty of lockpicks before diving into the water.

Dying Light 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
