Players will spend the first stages of Dying Light 2 in the first two districts: Trinity and Houndfield. The enemy difficulty varies slightly, but the districts are not distinct enough to keep Aiden from accidentally drifting from one into the other.
All that changes as explorers start to get serious. When players hit Horsehoe, they're making a legitimate push into uncharted waters. This kind of attitude is to be encouraged, but remember that Dying Light 2 is a dangerous place. Any exploration needs to be tied to a windmill for UV light and the Willow Windmill is the most convenient for this purpose.
Locating Willow Windmill
The Horseshoe district is not shaped like a horseshoe and thank goodness for that. It's to the east of the Trinity District, so players will want to consider unlocking the Alder Windmill in the Houndfield area before making their way over here.
The Willow Windmill is begging to be explored first since it's right there at the westernmost point of the district. Those who go from the subway to the church will find that they cross directly over Willow Windmill on the way. It's a convenient place to rest up, for those who can master the puzzle.
Traversing To The Top
Many windmills require getting some of the best parkour skills in the game to ascend, but Willow Windmill is more about deception than levels. There are two moving mechanisms, but they are in sync and the second can be climbed, so stamina drain is not an issue.
Turn directly around and wait for the mechanism to rise to the top. There is another flat platform well within reach. On the right side, there is a hole just barely large enough to crawl through, head on through and don't look down.
This is the big trick. There is a nice and safe board that leads right but goes nowhere. To the left, there is a thin beam to tightrope along and this is the correct direction. It loops all the way around to the back of the structure.
At the end, there is a ladder to jump onto. This is the final step of the journey, jump onto it, had up, then fix the fusebox and claim the location! Eventually, players can give this to a faction, but the base rewards of a UV light, a place to rest, and a bag to organize items are good enough for now. Have fun in the Horseshoe district!
