So far, fans have had almost exclusively good things to say about the parkour abilities in Dying Light 2. It's fast, fun, intuitive, and just a flat-out entertaining way to get around. But all that fun and fluff is turned into a technical showcase when players attempt to try the first Nightrunner Trial.

The margin for victory is razor-thin; one stumble on a landing can be all it takes to lose hope for the gold medal. Considering the course takes two minutes, players can bury hours into the course if they don't take the correct route. This is how to beat Dying Light 2's premier parkour challenge.

Optimal Path And Times

Players don't need to have the best parkour skills available unlocked to complete this course, though it certainly doesn't hurt. This guide will help anyone at any level get this challenge done, though it will admittedly be much easier for those who have skills like Dart and Safe Landing.

Checkpoint 1 - 0:15

One of the biggest mistakes players make on this course is to go straight toward the first checkpoint. It's possible, but it requires shimmying up a wall and that takes too much precious time. Instead, start by going left and taking the ramp onto the roof, then take the bridge over the gap.

Checkpoint 2 - 0:29

Once again, players will be forced to choose between a direct path that forces Aiden to climb and a rounded path that stays on top. The latter is, again, the better option. Stay right and use the metal scaffolding as a step for some quick parkour experience and a speedy route to the checkpoint.

Checkpoint 3 - 0:50

Falling all the way down after the second checkpoint is a good way to fight enemies and accrue currency rapidly, but it's a very bad way to do this course.

Go across the thin metal bridge and use the rope swing to get across to the other side. Hurdle up some boxes and onto the roof.

Checkpoint 4 - 1:05

Stay on the same roof as the third checkpoint and go left. There will be a convenient board that allows Aiden to get to the other side without needing to pull himself up and waste time. After making this jump, it's a straight shot to the fourth point.

Checkpoint 5 - 1:18

Immediately after reaching point four, there is a mattress down below. Don't jump, just run off of the edge, and Aiden will land without falling on it. Climb onto the yellow truck and shimmy up the pipe, the next checkpoint will be right there.

Checkpoint 6 - 1:32

Continuing straight ahead, the roof has an overhang that players should run along until they can jump to the concrete roof on the right.

Spot a reddish wooden ramp and use it to get to the other side. After a brief pull-up, Aiden will be right next to the point.

Checkpoint 7 - 1:45

Make a u-turn left and, looking spot, spot a thin metal bridge to jump onto. At the end of that bridge are two monkey bars. Do not use the first bar, it's a trick and forces players to climb the next building from a lower point. Jump over that one, swing on the second monkey bar, and climb to the top for the second-to-last point.

Checkpoint 8 - 1:59

From here, there are three makeshift ledges that allow Aiden to cleanly get between rooftops and to the final checkpoint. The first is a metal construction bridge, the next two are both wooden. For the final point, make sure to land on the extended wooden plank painted blue as the other holds will force Aiden to do an unnecessary pull-up or have him stumble.

Dying Light 2 was released on February 4th, 2022, and is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
