Dying Light 2's launch on Friday was not without issue, as the game has had various issues with glitches, bugs, and unexpected crashes. Fortunately, Techland has been attentive to the issues that Dying Light 2 players have been experiencing, as the company implemented a hotfix over the weekend and has promised that more fixes are on the way soon.

Dying Light 2 came with a day one patch that Techland recommended players install if they wished to experience the game the way that it was meant to be played. The day one patch fixed various issues that reviewers had with the game before it officially launched. These issues included fixes for dialogue that blocked story progression, fixes for various crashes, and fixes for bugs that were causing objects and AI to sink into the ground at random.

The hotfixes over the weekend included fixes that improved co-op stability, fixes for missing textures and audio issues, performance improvements for both DLSS and ray tracing, and a fix for the problem players were having when trying to redeem in-game rewards. In addition, Techland provided an update as to what issues it's looking into for the PC and console versions of the game including various other crashes, bugs leading to infinite black screens, dead body replication glitches in co-op, and an issue players were having when trying to sell items to vendors.

The developer also recently stated that they would be working on the issues relating to Dying Light 2's zombie ragdoll physics. The original Dying Light was renowned for its ragdoll physics, whereas Dying Light 2 seems to be lacking in the same department. Techland has acknowledged the issue and has plans to fix it in order to get Dying Light 2 up to scratch.

Players still seem to be enjoying the game despite its various technical issues. Dying Light 2 put the original game's peak player count to shame, as the game had an impressive 245 553 concurrent peak player count on the evening of its release. In comparison, the original Dying Light only had 46 000 concurrent players on the night of its launch.

Techland has promised that Dying Light 2 will be supported for updates and content for the next 5 years. The quick implementation of fixes for the game's technical issues bodes well for this promise, as Techland seems to be committed to improving Dying Light 2. The game already has a story DLC that is set to arrive in June, which means that players still have a lot to look forward to.

Dying Light 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
