Several chicken-themed items will become available to Dying Light 2 players who purchase the new cosmetic DLC Chicken Bundle. The cosmetics were originally part of Dying Light 2's limited time Egg-splosive Hunt event which took place late last month. Now, the items are available for separate purchase as cosmetic DLC.Dying Light 2 reviewed less-than remarkably when it launched early last year. While the iconic parkour traversal has been praised by fans, many felt the sequel left much to be desired in other areas like characters and storytelling. With that said, Techland has been keeping up with the community and supporting the game regularly with updates, events and DLC over a year after launch.RELATED: Dying Light 2 Dev Gives First Look at New Open-World IPDying Light 2's new Chicken Bundle consists of three items: the Rooster Suit, the Chicken Claw weapon, and the Chicken Wing glider. The Egg-splosive Hunt event also awarded a Harper Token which is a currency tied to a quest-giving NPC, as well as the Egg-ceptional weapon charm, neither of which seem to be included in the Chicken Bundle. Players who weren't able to contribute to the global event goal of killing 15,000,000 enemies with Egg-splosive throwables during the Egg-splosive Hunt event will be able to grab the bundle for $5 across all platforms.

In the world of live service games, it can be tough for many players keep up with the constant changes, updates, and limited time events, thus missing out on a lot of rewards and cosmetic items as a result. Very few games take steps to rectify this, having highly sought-after cosmetic items locked away forever after an event or battle pass ends. Many gamers feel that there's no point in partaking in an event or grinding through a battle pass if everybody has access to the cosmetic rewards anyway despite not taking part in said event or battle pass.

While this argument holds strong for battle passes that are major time and money investments, short limited time events are usually much less of a commitment. It's encouraging to see Techland recognizing this with Dying Light 2 and making its event-tied cosmetics available to all after the event concludes. As one of very few independent AAA studios, Techland seems to be highly proficient at integrating live service elements into its games and supporting its community for years to come.

Dying Light 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
