This month is a special time for developer Techland, which is celebrating Dying Light 2’s second anniversary. Over the past couple of years, Techland has released many updates for its community, including crossover events with franchises like The Walking Dead, community-focused initiatives like community maps, numerous enemy variants, and much more. It's also perhaps no surprise that Techland wanted to top Dying Light 2's first-anniversary celebrations last year, with its month-long second-anniversary celebrations including the game's biggest update yet.

While its Year of the Dragon additions kicked off the party, Dying Light 2's second-anniversary celebrations include its highly anticipated Firearms Update. Techland is also releasing a Reloaded Edition for Dying Light 2 on the same day as the Firearms Update, with both arriving on February 22. And as if all that wasn't enough, there will be more in the form of Anniversary bounties and rewards.

Dying Light 2 Interview: Franchise Director Reflects on 2023 and Looks to the Future

In a recent Game ZXC interview, franchise director Tymon Smektala reflects on Dying Light 2 in 2023 and looks ahead to the future.

Dying Light 2's Second Anniversary Celebrations

Dying Light 2's Firearms Update is a significant part of its second-anniversary celebrations, enabling players to use various types of firearms in Villedor. Adding firearms was also highly requested by its community - a call that Techland readily answered. The Firearms Update also boasts a host of additional content, brings back two legendary characters from Dying Light 1, introduces rewards connected to the original game, and much more.

The second-anniversary celebrations also include the arrival of Dying Light 2's Reloaded Edition which includes the massive Firearms Update. It's the richest edition of the zombie-slaying game to date and includes all previously released content for Dying Light 2, including Dying Light 2's Bloody Ties DLC. For those who don't own a copy of the game, the Reloaded Edition effectively replaces its standard edition, giving new players even more for their money. The free nature of the Firearms Update for those who already own the game is also a nice touch for its existing community.
