Yesterday's PC Gaming Show had the the old school shooter revival in full effect. From games like Gloomwood, Prodeus, and Amp Evil, the classic shooter tribute act is a big focus of the indie game world. It now seems that one of the early revival projects is expanding to new platforms.

Dusk, initially released in 2018 after a year-long delay, is spreading the polygonal demonic slaying chaos to the Nintendo Switch this year. In the most apt of release dates, Switch owners can dive in on Halloween when it launches on the platform.

Dusk can be seen as one of the earlier takes in bringing the early shooters back. Since then, many developers have taken swings at creating games that strike somewhere between the two juggernauts of the genre, Doom and Quake. Many of those come from Dusk's publisher New Blood Interactive which showcased many of its shooters at the PC Gaming Show. Outside of New Blood are shooters like the upcoming Prodeus, which merges the classic gameplay with user creation tools.

While many of these revivals have yet to release on Nintendo's hybrid console, Dusk is likely the first of many that will be coming. The Switch is perfect for these fast paced and manic level based shooters. Dusk is no exception with the levels being a point of greater praise on the game.

Dusk is just one of the high profile Switch ports coming in 2020. The other indie darling to release on the platform this year is "True RPG" Disco Elysium which is praised on one of the best narrative driven games of the generation.

Dusk will release on the Nintendo Switch on October 31, and is available now on on PC.
