Dungeons and Dragons groups may not be getting together in person quite as often thanks to social distancing best practices, but that certainly hasn't stopped the popular tabletop RPG from growing in popularity over the last handful of months. The game continues to grow in popularity as gamers look for things to do while stuck at home and the digital toolbox available through DnD Beyond has been supporting Zoom or Discord-based play sessions with tools of free content and new features.

Most recently, the team at DnD Beyond rolled out a Digital Dice Alpha for subscribers that allows those users to very easily roll any ability check, save, attack, or damage with the click of a button. This Dungeons and Dragons feature is incredibly helpful for players who are on their computers instead of at a physical table with friends and starting yesterday the tool is available for free to all users (not just paying subscribers).

As players continue powering through their adventures in Wildemount or get ready to head to the plane of Theros for a new adventure, this tool is going to be incredibly helpful. At this point, DMs do not have the ability to roll on monster sheets or through the combat tracker, but hopefully those features are on the way for future updates.

Digital Dice Beta Details

We're happy to announce the Digital Dice Public Beta is now live on the Character Sheet for ALL USERS!

We'd like to thank our initial Alpha testers for all their suggestions and feedback over the last month. It has helped us prioritize problem areas and improve where we can. We will continue to use feedback from the Alpha and the Beta testing periods to prioritize features and improvements. If you have feedback please add it to one of the threads in our growing feedback forum. If your idea does not exist, feel free to create a new thread with your comments.

As a thank you to all Alpha testers, the Old School Dice set has been permanently added to your dice collection. This exclusive dice set is only available to those that were subscribed during the Alpha testing phase.

What is coming next?

The ability to roll with Advantage and Disadvantage

The ability to share dice roll results with those with which you are playing

Ability to collect other dice sets

Better Mobile Formatting of Dice Roller and Results Panel
