The Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Super Bowl preview was released ahead of the big game. The Paramount Pictures TV spot is under one minute long, but the teaser packs plenty of action with Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez in a short amount of time.

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves stars Pine as Edgin, a Bard who joins a group of thieves in search of a lost relic. Along their journey, they encounter dangerous adversaries, one of whom was confirmed in the most recent Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailer, forcing them to set aside their differences and work as a team.

The Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Super Bowl spot is only 30 seconds long, but that's enough time to show off thrilling action scenes involving Rodriguez and co-star Justice Smith. Pine's Edgin warns his comrades that they're facing the "greatest evil" and they'll need a team to overcome the odds. A series of action shots involving sword fights, monsters, and characters getting into difficult situations follows. "How are we gonna pull this off? Figure it out over a drink?" Rodriguez asks Pine, prompting him to reply, "Probably best."

The Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Super Bowl spot isn't the first preview to drop ahead of its television debut on Sunday's big game. The Scream 6 and Fast X Super Bowl previews were released a few days earlier, but Warner Bros. will keep The Flash trailer under wraps for the main event. Still, Warner Bros. teased the forthcoming trailer by releasing the official The Flash movie poster, teasing Ezra Miller's team-up with Michael Keaton's Batman.

Co-written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves spot displays the comedy the two are known for, but it also delivers the actions fans of the roleplaying game expect. A Dungeons and Dragons movie trilogy launched in 2000 was far from well-received, so Paramount is likely trying to distinguish the new film from its predecessor to as many people as possible, even those who might not tune in to the big game.

Although Honor Among Thieves is not connected to the Dungeons and Dragons series for Paramount Plus, the studio is likely hoping to expand the film into sequels and spinoffs, like most studios are trying to do with their respective franchises. Whether Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be successful enough to warrant another cinematic universe remains to be seen, but the trailers are a positive sign.

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 31, 2023.
