How to Build an Ornithopter in Dune: Spice Wars

First things first, Ornithopters are available in all game modes in Dune: Spice Wars. Luckily for players, building it is fairly straightforward, and the process remains pretty much the same regardless of the chosen game mode. Here’s how players can build one:

  • Once players enter the game, they will see a drop-down menu at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Towards the bottom of this menu, they will find the ‘Ornithopters’ tab, positioned just above the ‘Military’ tab. To commence the construction of an Ornithopter, players will need to click the ‘+’ icon under the heading.

After players build an Ornithopter, it will initially be stationed at the Arrakeen base camp by default. To command it, players can left-click on the Ornithopter and then right-click on the area they want it to explore. Alternatively, players can opt for the auto-recon mode, which will enable the flying vehicles to wander autonomously and investigate whatever they encounter. What’s more? They can also detect sandworms earlier, allowing players to recall harvesters in time.

It is noteworthy that players get one Ornithopter by default at the start of the match. Of course, navigating the vast area using just one vehicle can be time-consuming, which is why most players prefer building more Ornithopters. Having said that, it is pertinent to mention that players are limited to building a maximum of five vehicles at a time.

Furthermore, sandstorms may also appear occasionally, and when they do, they can destroy any Ornithopters working in that area. Luckily, this won’t really be a problem, as players can just build replacements as needed.
