There are five fish shrine puzzles in Dredge, and each one grants a reward upon completion. Additionally, players that solve all the fish shrine puzzles will earn the Servant of the Shrines achievement, providing some additional incentive to track them down and work through them. For those fans that are indeed interested in solving all the rock slabs in Dredge, this guide is here to assist with that endeavor.

The Marrows Rock Slab Puzzle

The Marrows fish shrine is located on the south edge of J9, and it requires curved fish. To solve it, players must insert five Cod, Coastal fish that can be caught with a rod in the Marrows during the day, into the rock slab using a configuration like the one that is depicted above. The reward for solving this puzzle is the Sinew Spindle, a Coastal/Shallow rod with a 6% fishing speed.

Gale Cliffs Rock Slab Puzzle

The Gale Cliffs fish shrine is situated near the center of P3, and it tasks players with locating three crab-like creatures. Specifically, fans of fishing video games need to insert two Rock Crabs and one Decorator Crab into the rock slab, and these crustaceans can be caught by placing crab pots next to the shrine. The reward for solving this puzzle is the Mouth of the Deep, a 6x6 crab pot that yields three creatures per day.

Stellar Basin Rock Slab Puzzle

The Stellar Basin fish shrine is in the northeast corner of H2, and fans of Lovecraftian video games must use four large, powerful fish to complete it. Those fish are the Hammerhead Shark, Ghost Shark, Bronze Whaler, and Blacktip Reef Shark, and here are details on where players can find them:

  • Hammerhead Shark (Oceanic): Northwest corner of H1 at all times.
  • Ghost Shark (Abyssal): Southeast corner of I4 at all times.
  • Bronze Whaler (Oceanic): Northeast corner of I6 during the day.
  • Blacktip Reef Shark (Oceanic): North K6 at night.

After catching these fish, players should return to the Stellar Basin rock slab and place the Hammerhead shark in the middle, the Bronze Whaler on the left, the Blacktip Reef Shark on the right, and the Ghost Shark at the top. Fans of indie open-world games will then receive their reward: the Viscera Crane rod, which can fish in Abyssal and Hadal waters and has 55% fishing speed.

Twisted Strand Rock Slab Puzzle

The Twisted Strand fish shrine is near some long tree roots on the east side of D13, and it requires the twisted shape of a deformed fish. To fulfill this requirement, Dredge players must simply catch an Entwined Mullet, a Coastal aberration that can be caught with a rod in Grey Mullet fishing spots at all times. Such a spot can be found within D13, and the puzzle awards the Tendon Rod, which has 28% fishing speed and can catch Oceanic, Mangrove, and Shallow fish, upon completion.

Devil's Spine Rock Slab Puzzle

Players must solve the Devil's Spine fish shrine if they hope to beat Dredge, and it is situated in the northeast corner of O14. This rock slab requires two malformed fish, writhing under the sun, and any of the Devil's Shrine aberrations seem to fulfill this requirement. For full clarity, those aberrations include the Ossified Searobin (caught in Armored Searobin fishing spots during the day), Infernal Eel (caught in Cusk Eel fishing spots at night), and Serpentine Mackerel (caught in Snake Mackerel fishing spot at all times). The reward for solving this rock slab is a Fathomless Flame and the Encrusted Talisman, which increases fishing speed by 330%.

Dredge is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
