The Research Assistant Pursuit in Dredge is initiated by speaking with the Researcher at the Old Fortress in Stellar Basin, and players must, at least, complete its first half. This first half tasks fans with collecting three aquatic creatures, one of which is the Aurora Jellyfish. While this is certainly not be the rarest creature in the game, Dredge's Aurora Jellyfish can prove to be somewhat elusive, and this guide is here to help players track one down.

Dredge: Aurora Jellyfish Location

The first step toward catching an Aurora Jellyfish in Dredge is obtaining a Trawl Net that is capable of catching Coastal creatures. This could be either a basic or Improved Trawl Net, and fans of fishing video games can purchase the equipment from a Shipyard. Once a Net has been procured and equipped, players should make sure that they are within Stellar Basin and wait for nightfall.

When the fog rolls in, players should simply select the Trawl Net from the radial menu, deploy the equipment, and sail around Stellar Basin, taking care to avoid the horror in the center of the area. After sailing through this location for a short time, fans of indie open-world games should find that an Aurora Jellyfish has entered their net, and a notification will appear indicating that a new species has been added to the Encyclopedia. Players are then free to return to the Researcher at the Old Fortress and hand over their catch.

With respect to what occurs after the Aurora Jellyfish, and two other requisite creatures, have been given to the Researcher, she will then instruct players to fetch some Prototype Parts from the nearby Research Outpost. These parts will be used to create a Sampling Device, which gives fans of Lovecraftian video games the ability to fish in Abyssal waters, and a Repulsion Machine that is to be connected to the Generator at the Research Outpost. Once that device has been connected, players will be free to temporarily enter the center of Stellar Basin where a relic can be found.

Fans will also gain access to the second part of the Research Assistant Pursuit during this section of the game, and it requires them to locate four more sea creatures. Dredge's Stoplight Loosejaw is the fish that is likely to give players the most trouble from this batch, as it does not appear in many places. That said, fans are advised to put some effort toward tracking it down, as they will receive a bonus-granting book for fully completing the Pursuit.

Dredge is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
