When it comes to fishing in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there is a wide variety of creatures for players to catch. Not only that, but each biome in the game has different kinds of fish that can be caught. While that may seem pretty straightforward for players, it gets tricky because fish share spawn points. As a result, it can be difficult to get certain kinds of fish even when Disney Dreamlight Valley players are fishing in the correct nodes.

One such example is shrimp. Despite being able to be found pretty early on in the game, they have a surprisingly low drop rate. With this guide, players will know where to look and have a better chance of catching some shrimp with their trusty fishing rod.

How to Get Shrimp in Dreamlight Valley

The only biome that shrimp can be found in is Dazzle Beach. Being the only access to the ocean in Dreamlight Valley, players will have lots of space to fish for shrimp. While it is theoretically possible to get shrimp from just casting into the water at random, Disney Dreamlight Valley players should be looking for circles with bubbles coming up from the middle. These provide players with a much higher chance of catching more than just seaweed.

There are three different colors of circles that appear in any body of water. The first is a white circle, the second is a blue circle, and the third is an orange-yellow circle. Fish in the white circle are the easiest to catch, while fish in the orange-yellow circles are much more difficult to catch. In the case of shrimp, players should be looking for blue circles along the shoreline.

While it is possible to get shrimp from the other circles, they more frequently appear from the blue circles. Bringing a companion along with the Fishing Role will help players have a chance to get more shrimp when they do catch one.

Disney Dreamlight Valley players should be aware that shrimp are not a guaranteed catch, even from blue circles. They just happen to have the best chance of spawning shrimp when fishing from them. Players just need to keep fishing from blue circles, and eventually, they will catch a shrimp. If there are no blue circles in the water, players can fish from the other circles to get more blue circles to spawn.

What Are Shrimp Used For?

Like all fish that can be caught in Disney Dreamlight Valley, shrimp are used in cooking. There are a wide variety of meals that players can cook that use shrimp. A few good examples are the Seafood Appetizer and Bouillabaisse. Of these two examples, shrimp is a mandatory ingredient only for Bouillabaisse.

So if Disney Dreamlight Valley players need to make a Seafood Appetizer for one of their Disney friends, they may want to consider holding onto their shrimp until they need them for a quest or recipe that requires the elusive shellfish.

It also might not be a bad idea to save immediately after catching a shrimp or two.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
