Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a deep, open-world action RPG set in a parallel world to that of Capcom’s beloved 2012 title, Dragon’s Dogma. In this dark fantasy realm, players take on the role of a character called the "Arisen" – a hero whose fate is altered when a dragon steals their heart. Now, with the help of their loyal Pawns, the Arisen sets out on a journey to confront and defeat the dragon.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 lets players freely customize their Arisen’s appearance and gives them full control of its movements, decisions, and interactions throughout the game. As Dragon’s Dogma 2 is primarily narrative-driven, many players are curious about how long it would take them to complete the epic storyline.

Leveling up is a staple in RPGs, but Dragon's Dogma 2's leveling system has a few nuances that players will want to know about.

How Long to Beat Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon's Dogma 2 Landscape

In an interview, the director of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Hideaki Itsuno, stated that the game will have a duration similar to that of its predecessor, Dragon’s Dogma - Dark Arisen. According to HowLongToBeat, it took approximately 33 hours to complete the main objectives and about 110 hours to obtain 100% completion of the original 2012 title.

With a map four times larger than the previous game, Dragon's Dogma 2 can take considerably longer to complete, especially for completionists who want to finish all side quests and explore every nook and cranny of the game world.

Thief vocation

For players solely focused on the main campaign, completing Dragon’s Dogma 2 could take anywhere from 25 to 30 hours. However, for those planning to deviate from the main storyline and explore everything this dark fantasy game has to offer, including involving themselves in the side content, it will likely take over 110+ hours for a completionist run.

And since there are limited fast travel mechanics in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which means that players are going to spend a considerable amount of time simply walking to different locations. Despite these limitations, the devs promise that traveling in an open world is only boring if the game itself is boring.

With plenty of hidden areas to explore, a variety of vocations to unlock and max out, and tons of sidequests, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is truly massive. It is worth exploring this open world since the game rewards all the time and energy that you put into it. Players can expect to find hidden treasures, powerful gear, and secrets as they dive deeper into the game.
