Pawns are a feature wholly unique to Dragon's Dogma 2. This system gives the Arisen control three other NPCs down to their equipment, skills, and decisions in combat. But these customizable followers aren't just for gameplay – with such an elaborate character customization tool, and so many people willing to share their creations, there are a lot of possibilities, but it's not always easy to find specific Pawns.

There is no name search tool, for example, but that doesn't mean you can't hire Pawns that look like World of Warcraft's Sylvannas Windrunner or Dune's Baron Harkonnen in your party. The key is knowing the creator of the Pawn you want to hire, and what the Pawn ID is. In Dragon's Dogma 2 Pawn IDs are numbers that are assigned to each and every Pawn in the Rift. Though Riftstones offer plenty of ways to filter Pawns, it can be difficult to find a specific Pawn without having their exact Pawn ID Code.

When inside The Rift, after interacting with a Riftstone, open up the Rift menu and select "Search For A Pawn". Then, scroll down and select "Search by Pawn ID". Once you have the full Pawn ID for a Pawn you want to summon, input the code here, and it should appear.

Battahl is the other major city players will want to visit in Dragon's Dogma 2. Here are all the ways you can get there.

To find your own Main Pawn's ID, in case you want to share your Pawn ID with someone specific, go to the "Status" screen from the pause menu, then scroll right to your Main Pawn. In the central column which displays your Main Pawn's name & details, you should see a row titled "Pawn ID". You can't copy your Pawn ID in-game, so be sure to note it down elsewhere so you can share it later on.

Places To Get Fun Pawn IDs & Pawns

Online Dragon's Dogma 2 Communities

Arguably the best place to get Pawn IDs online is through various internet communities centered on the game. The primary place for most players to source Pawn IDs is Reddit, through the various Dragon's Dogma 2 subreddits. Both the /r/dragonsdogma and /r/dragonsdogma2 subreddits regularly see users post their Pawns (and Pawn IDs), and host official threads where players can post their Pawn IDs for others to hire.

Another good subreddit to reference in hunting down the best Pawn IDs is the /r/fashiondogma subreddit. It now includes Dragon's Dogma 2 posts, and here you'll find players sharing their Arisen's outfits. But Main Pawns get posted here too, and if one calls to you, consider asking its creator for their Pawn ID.

Pawns serve a variety of functions in Dragon's Dogma 2. These are activities that Pawns can perform to make the player's life easier.

Reddit isn't the only place to source new Pawn IDs online, though. These sites host plenty of players looking to share their Pawn IDs, too, and are worth referencing in the pursuit of the perfect Pawn.

Fun Pawns In-Game: Forgotten Riftstones & Official Pawns

If you can't find a good Pawn outside of the game via Reddit or other sites that share Pawn IDs, consider using the game's tools to sort Pawn options for you. You won't be able to find a specific Pawn this way. But by using Forgotten Riftstones, you can whittle down the pool that the game pulls Pawns from in the Rift, and maybe find some more fun options.

For example, one Forgotten Riftstone – the Riftstone of the Fang – only provides Pawns for hire of the Beastren race. One only pulls Pawns from the Rift who are Large and Male, and another one only pulls Large and Female Pawns. These cannot be used in tandem with one another, as only one can be enabled at a time once it's been discovered out in the world. After discovering it, scroll down to the "Linked Riftstones" option at any other Riftstone to apply its filter.

Another way you can find fun Pawns and Pawn IDs in Dragon's Dogma 2 is to look at the Official Pawn list, which incorporates Pawns that both various partners and gaming influencers created for the game. You can pick Itsuno's very own Pawn, Ted, or see what kind of Pawn Asmongold came up with for the game.

These Pawns are free to hire until Level 10, and have a set of special restrictions. But if you can't find a funny Pawn ID online, or have trouble whittling down the options at a Riftstone, consider using an Official pawn from a creator you know instead.
