After completing the character creation and the tutorial quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will eventually end up in Vernworth. While in Vernworth, you will meet Captain Brandt, who will assign you several quests to unfold the mysteries of the fake Arisen and the Queen Regent Disa.

One of the first quests Captain Brandt will give you after you arrive in Vernworth is "Disa's Plot." To complete the quest, you must break into the palace covertly and take a letter that reveals what Disa has been up to with the fictitious Arisen. While this quest is easier than the others, there are a few essential steps that players must take to keep themselves safe when attempting to steal the letter from the palace.

Dragon's Dogma 2: 8 Mechanics You Didn't Know About

There are a lot of smaller systems at play in Dragon's Dogma 2. Here are some of the key systems and mechanics you're probably unaware of.

How to Start Disa’s Plot

Meet Captain Brandt at Stardrop Inn during the night. Head inside the bar, and Captain Brandt will be waiting for you at the table in the inner chamber. If you're meeting Captain Brandt for the first time at Stardrop Inn, he will present you with an option to do one of the three quests: Monster Culling, The Caged Magistrate, or Disa's Plot.

To start Disa’s plot, choose “Tell me of the Queen Regent” when the option is available. After the Captain has explained every detail, choose “Accept” to start the quest.

How to Skip Time in Vernworth

If you cannot find Captain Brandt inside the inn, it's likely that you are visiting Stardrop Inn during the day. Captain Brandt is only in the Inn at night, and you will also need to attempt the quest at night when the offices are empty. So, if it is day, you will have to wait until night falls and visit the place again to meet Captain Brandt.

There are several easy ways to skip time in Vernworth. While some are free, some will require you to spend some gold.

  • Chat with the beastren lady at the bar counter. Pass some time by selecting ‘Pass the time’ from the choices that pop up when you interact with her. Talking with her twice or three times, in the same way, will skip the time to night.
  • Taking a snooze on one of the benches in the Vernworth area is the second alternative. When you sit on a bench, which is marked by the bench icon on your map, you can doze off and skip the time to night.
  • The last option (and the only one that costs money) is to check into Shakir's Inn and stay there until nightfall. While this is the fastest way to skip time, the first two options are cheaper and will help you save valuable gold.

Disa’s Plot Walkthrough

Once ‘Disa’s Plot’ has begun, proceed to the Castle Gate to find Sonia, a soldier whom Captain Brandt has assigned to assist you. She'll urge you to follow her through the Royal Quarter. If you do, you'll eventually arrive at The Guardhouse, which serves as your palace entrance.

Inside The Guardhouse, on the right side of the room near the swords, you will find a chest holding the Marcher’sArmor Set. This is the armor that the palace guards use. It is important to equip the set before you try to enter the palace so that you don't get caught while trying to infiltrate the castle office. If you like challenges during quests, you may attempt to slip into the castle and take the letter without donning the armor. In this scenario, though, you would have to move carefully to avoid being seen by the guards who are on patrol.

Enter via the door next to the chest after equipping the Marcher's Helm , Marcher's Armor , and Marcher's Cuisses . Proceed immediately to the right of the chamber after passing the door; this will take you to a large corridor. Proceed along the corridor and make a right turn to enter the spacious room. Head inside the chamber, and on the left side of the room, you will find a big door that will lead you to Vernworth Castle - Audience Chamber.

The Audience Chamber of the castle has two stairs on either side of it. To get to the top level, take the left staircase, turn left from the top of the stairs, and proceed through the corridor. At the end of the corridor, you will find a brown door, which is the entrance to the Vernworth Castle Offices. Inside the office chamber, you will find a torn letter on the desk that you need to steal and deliver to Captain Brandt.

After you pick up the letter, a cutscene will start playing. Sven, Disa's son, walks into the chamber and tells you that he also wants to help in your fight against his mother and the imposter Sovran. In the end, he will offer to help you escape through the windows while he keeps the guards occupied.

After the cutscene concludes, descend to the palace compound by jumping through the window. You won't be in danger of being discovered once you leave the Castle Office, so go easy after that. Proceed to the right, and beyond the castle's main door, you will come to a set of steps that will take you out of the castle's enclosed area. Use the exit to enter Noble’s Quarter, and keep moving towards Stardrop Inn, following the quest marker to meet Captain Brandt and deliver the letter.
