Dragon's Dogma 2 has various different Enhancement materials scattered throughout the game. Finding out which enemy in the game drops the enhancement material can be easy by simply reading their information. However, finding the enemy on its own can be quite a challenge. These enemies have fixed locations but mostly inside caves. These items can be hard to come by, so make sure you do not enhance weapons or gears that you might end up discarding later on.

Wailing Crystal is also an enhancement material in the game that is required for both early and mid-game gear. This guide provides all the details on the location of the Boss that drops the item, as well as how players can duplicate it without having to farm the boss.

The Waterfall Cave is a location you can find early on in Dragon's Dogma 2, and here is how you can complete it.

Where to Acquire Wailing Crystals in Dragon's Dogma 2

Tomb of Al'Guttos in Dragon's Dogma 2

Wailing Crystal's information states that it is the crystalized essence left by a Lich. Lich is an Undead Sorcerer who can cast various spells, being a troublesome foe to face against. Lich is located inside the Tomb of Al'Guttos east of Bakbattahl in the Battahl region. You can either make use of the Ropeways to get close to here or walk if you want to explore the whole way. Once at the entrance of the cave, you can rest and pass the time at the nearby Campsite if you are low on health, then proceed inside the cave.

Inside, you should find multiple melee skeletons as well as a caster skeleton that will cast constant spells that can slow you down. These casters must be your first priority, as the fight can drag on for a long time. You can explore the cave at your own leisure, but if you want to reach the Lich quicker, then take the first left. Follow this path past the Specter enemy and take a right when you see the Undead. Keep following this path, and soon, you will reach the Lich.

Fighting The Lich

The Lich can fly around the arena, making it harder for melee Vocations to get consistent hits in. The boss has a few deadly attacks that you must watch out for. Firstly, the Cyclone attack covers a huge area and takes out your health little by little. There are also the lightning balls that act as homing orbs and explode on the Arisen, and the Pawns dealing quite a lot of damage. After killing the boss, there is a chance that it drops Wailing Crystals. As the boss is respawnable, you can come after around seven days and try to acquire the material again.

How to Make Use of the Scrap Store

As with every other Enhancement material in the game, Wailing Crystals can also be duplicated. If you are planning to farm the material quite a lot, then this is definitely a better option than fighting Lich over and over again. However, this method costs quite a lot of Gold, depending on how much you need the duplicate item. To forge, you must first make your way to Checkpoint Rest Town. In the town, you can find Ibrahim's Scrap Store, where Ibrahim, in exchange for Gold, can forge almost any item for you. Give Ibrahim a Wailing Crystal as well as 2900 Gold and rest at the nearby bench for 2 days. Afterward, you can collect two Wailing Crystals, which will increase your total tally.
