"Convergence" is one of the main quests in Dragon's Dogma 2 that take place in Battahl, although you'll need to start it in Vermund. It takes place after the quest "Flickering Shadows" and before the quest "A New Godsway."

"Convergence" is a relatively straightforward dungeon delve, and chances are good that you've explored at least the first part of this dungeon before. However, not everything is the way it seems at first in Dragon's Dogma 2, and that includes the mysterious sunken temple you'll need to explore.

How to Start Convergence Quest in DD2

Dragons Dogma 2 Convergence Ruins

As a main quest, "Convergence" begins the moment you complete "Flickering Shadows." This quest takes you through the Forbidden Magic Laboratory under Bakbattahl, but it doesn't end until you speak to Rivage Elder in Harve Village. He should be present even if you haven't completed "Scaly Invaders" yet, but completing the Harve Village quests will make it easier to speak to him.

Rivage Elder will mention a sunken temple in the water, and the moment he finishes speaking, the temple will rise out of the water. You may notice a land bridge extending from northeast Battahl, but taking that route won't let you complete "Convergence." Instead, the way forward is surprisingly close by.

How to Reach the Heart of the Seafloor Shrine

After the cutscene of the Seafloor Shrine rising from the water, a guard will show up and mention that the nearby cave may lead into the ruins. If that wasn't enough of a hint, your main pawn should also suggest you explore Stormwind Cave. The cave entrance is in the rocks beneath the natural arch nearby, and you'll have explored it before if you completed "Scaly Invaders."

When you get to the large triangular room, take the south tunnel to reach a long cave lit by a blue glow. Stick to the upper ledges to find a large metal door. This door is shut and can't be opened until "Convergence" begins, at which point you'll find it already open.

Past the door is a ruin, and you'll find no more Saurians past this point. Ignore the barred doors for now and take the stairs down, then enter the doorway on the far side of the room. This path leads to a large circular room, at the center of which is a blue ghost sitting on a red throne. Approach the throne to start a conversation.

This is the ghost of Rothias, the Arisen who founded Vermund. He confuses you for an assassin at first, but your character sets him straight. He then explains what a godsway really is, but he doesn't know why the Battahli are creating them. Finally, he gives you the Dulled Godsbane Blade, which has the potential to be the most powerful godsway of all.

After the conversation (and an ominous cutscene) ends, so does "Convergence." Your reward is 4,000 XP, 15,000 gold, and the Blade. However, you still have to get out of the Seafloor Shrine, and Ferrystones don't work underground.

How to Leave the Seafloor Shrine in DD2

At this point, you can leave the Seafloor Shrine the way you came in, by heading back out through Stormwind Cave. However, another way out is available now that you've spoken to Rothias. To take this route, go up the stairs behind the throne and up the ramp of collapsed debris above it. Also, keep in mind that undead enemies have spawned throughout the ruin, both ahead of you and behind you.

Go through a break in the wall to find a blue pillar surrounded by a blue spiral. When you Examine the pillar, the Arisen will hold up the Dulled Godsbane Blade, and the platform you're on will start rising. This will lift you straight into the ruins you saw from the shore of Harve Village. You can explore these ruins now, or you could have explored them earlier by heading north from Bakbattahl. However, you couldn't have used the elevator before completing "Convergence."

The ruins are mostly linear. After leaving the elevator chamber, you can turn right to find a dead-end cave with more undead enemies, and to the left is a set of gaol cells filled with chests. One of the cells is locked, but a normal Makeshift Gaol Key opens it, and you can find one in a chest nearby.

Head up the stairs to reach the surface, then turn right, go across the hall to another staircase, turn left, enter the tower, climb yet another staircase, and exit through the doorway to reach a long battlement. Head straight through the tower on the far side and jump out the window to climb down a set of rocks. This path takes you to the land bridge, and the land bridge will take you to the shoreline near the Dragonforged, the man who provides Wyrmfire upgrades.

From here it's a quick jog to Bakbattahl, where the next main quest takes place. In the process, you've also found another route between Vermund and Battahl.
