Daggers in Dragons Dogma 2 are one of the fastest weapon types available to players, dealing great damage in a flash but lacking in range. They are the only weapons Thieves are capable of wielding, and are also available to Warfarers. Due to their high slashing damage, with skills such as Helm Splitter and the right daggers, even the deadliest foes in Dragon's Dogma 2 will fall in seconds.

This damage output is a trade-off for the lower survivability of the Thief Vocation. Although they can use parrying attacks such as Easy Kill and find some good medium armor, they are still a squishy class. This means that players using daggers work best when taking out enemies as fast as possible and using hit-and-run tactics. With these smaller attack windows, finding a good pair of daggers is crucial.

6 Spite

Serrated Blades With a Little Surprise

Saurian from Dragon's Dogma 2
  • 162 Strength
  • 156 Knockdown
  • 18% Blight

Spite is a pair of jagged daggers made of Saurian teeth and bone. Despite this rough design, their stats are more than respectable. They deal excellent damage in the early stages of the game and have considerable knockdown, staying competitive against daggers later in the game. Spite also inflicts Blight on enemies, making them take damage over time. This is perfect for maintaining damage while disengaging, and for adding a considerable amount of damage against bosses in longer fights.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Best Greatswords, Ranked

Spite can be bought from Celeste's Smithy in Respoint Check Town or Bakbattahl. Players looking to deal great damage over time, or wanting to go for a scavenger-hunter look, will want to enhance these barbed blades.

5 Divine Razors

Simple but Effective

  • 237 Strength
  • 155 Knockdown

Once players reach Bakbattahl, they will want to head to Awaran's Arms and buy these bulky blades. With no extra elemental damage or effects and a large hand guard, these daggers may seem a unimpressive. However, they make up for this with some respectable damage.

As they can be bought instantly upon arriving in Bakbattahl, they can carry players through the mid-game. Their 237 base strength is about as good as players can find at this stage in the game. This makes them a reliable option for any Thief or Warfarer player. However, they are certainly not divine.

4 Framae Blades

Broad Blades With a Demonic Past

  • 290 Strength
  • 184 Knockdown

Potentially the best daggers in the first Dragon's Dogma, these daggers have returned in Dragon's Dogma 2. Although not as strong as they were in the first game, they are still one of the best options for Thieves and Warfarers with high pure damage and knockdown. They are definitely worth picking up.

For Archers in Dragon's Dogma 2, these are the best weapons to have in your arsenal.

To find them, speak to Roman in Vernworth Castle and complete the line of quests involving Brokkr's Smithy. These daggers can then be bought there. They can also be found in the Armory on Volcanic Island.

  • 206 Strength
  • 350 Magick
  • 145 Knockdown
  • 45% Ice Damage

Against tougher enemies, even the highest damage Thief skills may not be enough. For these foes, being able to slow them down and even freeze them in place is invaluable. The Frosted Edges cause Frostbite on hits, which gradually slows movement. This makes them an excellent way to control enemies as they are slowed or even completely prevented from acting.

They also deal considerable damage, especially when fully upgraded, as they can reach 594 Magick through Elven smithing. Players can find them in the Coral Snake's Hideout or as a quest reward for 'Off the Pilfered Path'.

2 Dragon's Vein

True Power in the Endgame

Dragon's Dogma 2 - Claiming Wyrmslife Crystals From Dead Drake
  • 330 Strength
  • 172 Knockdown

Once players reach the endgame, just before the actual ending of the game, they have access to some of the best weapons. By heading to the Bay Wayside Shrine, they can purchase the Dragon's Vein daggers from the Dragonforged. This will require 110 Wyrmslife Crystals, so hunt a lot of drakes and dragons along the way. Some quests also reward a good number of them. Because this weapon has the highest base strength of any dagger in the game, players will want to put in the time and make sure they can buy it.

Dragon's Dogma 2: 7 Mechanics From The First Game That Are Different In The Sequel

While Dragon's Dogma 2 is a very faithful sequel to the original Dragon's Dogma game, there are a good number of new mechanics for players to learn.

Through Battahli smithing, this strength can be increased to 549, dealing massive amounts of pure physical damage against all enemy types. Although Dragon's Vein may not deal any elemental damage or have any extra effects, the sheer amount of damage it deals allows it to comfortably sit among the best weapons in the game.

1 Heaven's Key

Heavenly in Looks and Damage

  • 306 Strength
  • 400 Magick
  • 234 Knockdown
  • 45% Radiant Damage

These holy daggers have the second-highest base strength in the game and deal 45% additional Radiant damage on hits, giving them the highest total damage in the game. This damage is even more effective against undead enemies such as Wights. With good damage, magick, and knockdown, these daggers earn their place at the top.

The Heaven's Key becomes available from all weapons vendors in the endgame, after unlocking the Unmoored World. Although players will have to wait a long time to get to use them, their incredible damage output and their beautiful design with golden flames dancing along the blade make them more than worth it. With these in hand and Skull Splitter as one of their skills, any Thief or Warfarer can deal some of the best DPS in the entire game.
