Dragon's Dogma 2 by Capcom has a flexible class system, allowing players to swap classes to really make the most of its varied combat. Thanks to a varied set of weapons and weapon skills, each Vocation plays differently, granting unique strengths to any party.

11 Savage Fang

Great Early Game Bow

• Where to find: Purchase at Roderick's Smithy in Vernworth.

Savage Fang is a great early game bow for an Arisen who has a little bit of gold to spend. Considering how early it's available, it is quite expensive, but not nearly as much as more powerful bows. And since it's easy to purchase, it isn't difficult to acquire at all. Players don't need to search out-of-the-way caves and locations for hidden treasure chests to find this weapon.

Savage Fang has a great Strength stat and wonderful Knockdown Power, making it an easy choice for the earlier parts of the game.

10 Veteran's Arc

Better Early Game Bow

• Where to find: Celeste's Smithy in Checkpoint Rest Town

The Veteran's Arc is a great early game bow with a good Strength stat of 163. It's available as soon as the player character gets to Vernworth, since the Checkpoint Rest Town is only an oxcart ride away from Vernworth. It's a little expensive, but the stat upgrade can be worth it.

However, the Veteran's Arc is a very heavy weapon compared with some other bows, weighing in at a whopping 3.65KG. Because of this, a weight-conscious Arisen might prefer traveling with a different bow.

9 Repeller Bow

A Bow For A Life

• Where to find: Given as a reward for saving Doireann during the quest, A Trial of Archery

The Repeller Bow is a great bow with a fantastic Strength stat of 170. It offers Knockdown Power too, at 190, and is completely free thanks to being a quest reward.

It is, however, gated behind a decently long quest requiring traversal between two relatively distant parts of the map, as well as a bunch of fighting. This journey starts with the Gift of the Bow quest. Still, as the quest A Trial of Archery leads to the Elvish town of Sacred Arbor, players usually want to get it done early anyway.

8 Darkening Storm

Worth The Search

• Where to find: In a chest west of Checkpoint Rest Town

Darkening Storm is arguably the best truly early-game bow. It has a great Strength stat at 198, and its Knockdown Power is 210. It's available as soon as the player can get to Checkpoint Rest Town, but does require a bit of searching.

Said searching can be difficult at a low level thanks to rampaging hordes of enemies, but it is possible, and Darkening Storm is worth it.

7 Predator

Harpy Killer

• Where to find: Awaran's Arms in Bakbattahl

The Predator is a good choice of bow for the mid-game. Available once the player gets to Bakbattahl, the Predator is a reasonably priced bow well-suited for when it becomes available in game.

The Predator is much lighter than some of the bows available earlier than it. It can be worth shelling out the gold for some extra space in the Arisen's (or their Pawn's) pack.

6 Dinistrydd

Elf-Made Bow

• Where to find: Sold in Grisha's Armory in Sacred Arbor

Dinistrydd is a powerful bow of Elven make, available from Grisha's Armory in Sacred Arbor. It has a great Strength stat at 233, although its Knockdown Power isn't quite as good as other options.

Dinistrydd is reasonably expensive, but still falls far short of the most expensive or hard to find options. It makes a good choice of bow for the Archer on a budget.

5 Dragon's Blink

Dragon Not Included

• Where to find: Awaran's Arms in Bakbattahl

The Dragon's Blink is a great choice of bow for the mid-game. Easily purchased from Awaran's Arms in Bakbattahl, the only real reason not to use this bow is if the player has run out of money. Which, to be fair, is easy to do.

But although there are better bows available in the game, none of them are available until much later on, and even then they cost more money. So Dragon's Blink is likely to be an Archer Arisen's best friend at the point which it becomes available.

4 Revenant Wail

Great For Endgame

• Where to find: Gautstafr (after Put a Spring In Thy Step), Volanic Island Armory; Roderick's Smithy/Celeste's Smithy/Awaran's Arms/Grisha's Armony (true endgame only)

The Revenant Wail is a great bow offering a massive upgrade to bows available much earlier. This is balanced out by being very hard to obtain. Prior to the true endgame, Revenant Wail is only available in locations accessed during the end of the main story, long after reaching Bakbattahl.

But the Revenant Wail doesn't drop off until the true endgame. Considering how good it is, it's a bow well worth seeking out and purchasing as soon as it's available.

3 Medusan Spellbow

Don't Look Right At It

• Where to find: Drops from the Medusa in Nera'Battahl Windrift during the endgame

The Medusan Spellbow is a powerful bow, but it can't be purchased anywhere in the game or in the true endgame. The Medusan Spellbow is instead a drop from the powerful and dangerous Medusa enemy, faceable in the Nera'Battahl Windrift.

Its massive power makes it well worth the fight, but it's a very heavy bow, so it's well suited to characters who've picked up quite a lot of Golden Trove Beetles. It gets lighter with upgrades, but it's still heavier than comparable weapons.

2 Dragon's Rancor

Dragons Hate This One Trick

• Where to find: Bay Wayside Shrine, purchased from The Dragonforged for 110 Wyrmslife Crystals during the true endgame

The Dragon's Rancor is a straight upgrade over almost all the other bows available up to the point where it becomes available. It doesn't have as good a Knockdown Power as the Medusan Spellbow, but its much lighter weight makes it an easy upgrade.

1 Hydra Husk

Simply The Best

• Where to find: Roderick's Smithy; Celeste's Smithy; Awaran's Arms; Grisha's Armory; Brokkr's Smithy (all endgame only)

Hydra Husk is the strongest non-magickal bow in the game, with a Knockdown Power to match. It's the best choice during the endgame for any Archer, thanks to being freely available at every major arms merchant for the simple price of some gold.

It's slightly heavier than some other bows, but its sheer power more than makes up for it, and upgrading reduces the weight anyway. The Hydra Husk should be the weapon of choice for every endgame Archer.
