Highlights
- Chanter's Half-Robe: Early essential for mages & Bartenders. Perfect for Silence resistance too.

- Arch-Conjuror's Robe: Tricksters' top choice for illusions with excellent strike resistance.
Dragon's Dogma 2 has an assortment of armor for players to purchase or find during their adventures in the action RPG title created by Capcom. Each piece of armor can be worn by a certain vocation with various stats that make that piece of armor a worthwhile investment for their Arisen or Pawn.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Largest Monsters, Ranked
Dragon's Dogma 2 features an array of terrifying monsters that challenge the Arisen. These creatures in particular tower over all else.
One of the most important stats a player should be paying attention to when finding the right armor is Strike Resistance. This allows players to increase the amount of defense they have against this type of damage, which adds on to the already set physical damage resistance a player is likely to have from that armor. With this in mind, these are by far the best armor with the most strike resistance.
8 Chanter's Half-Robe
Simple Yet Effective
- It can be purchased from Celeste's Smithy.
Some of the best strike resistant armor in Dragon's Dogma 2 can be found early into the player's exploration of this action RPG. One such example is the Chanter's Half-Robe, which can be purchased in the Checkpoint Rest Town.
Although it can be equipped by the Magick Archer vocation, at this point in the game, the player is unlikely to have unlocked this and instead will likely be wearing this simple bright yellow robe as a mage. Besides defending against slashing damage, this armor is also perfect for resisting silence, which can stop a mage from being able to cast their spells.
Vocation | Mage & Magick Archer |
---|---|
Defense | 65 |
Magick Resistance | 50 |
Slash Resistance | 5 |
Strike Resistance | 5 |
Knockdown Resistance | 14 |
Elemental Resistances | None |
Debilitation Resistancies | +5% Sleep & +10% Silence |
7 Indomitable Armor
Warriors Are Always Protected
- It can only be looted from Drabnir's Grotto.
The warrior vocation is one of many of the melee-focused vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2. As is expected when playing this sort of vocation, it's important that the player's armor has a high enough defense to help them avoid the various attacks of their foes.
The Indomitable Armor is body armor that players won't unlock until they have made it to the final area of the map and can only be found when exploring. With this in mind, the warrior's armor not only has a great defense stat but also helps the player, or their pawn, resist strikes.
Vocation | Warrior |
---|---|
Defense | 128 |
Magick Resistance | 62 |
Slash Resistance | 0 |
Strike Resistance | 5 |
Knockdown Resistance | 48 |
Elemental Resistances | +5% Ice |
Debilitation Resistancies | +10% Frostbitten & +10% Blighted |
6 Vanquisher's Armor
Agile And Resistant
- It can be purchased from Bodas' Armory.
While a thief's job is to remain on the move to avoid getting hit, there will always be moments when it's impossible to dodge out of the way of the strike. That's why it's still important for a player to have armor equipped, such as the Vanquisher's Armor.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Best Early-Game Weapons For Strength Builds
There are a ton of fantastic weapons to use in Dragon's Dogma 2, but not all of them are available early on. Thankfully, these weapons are.
Besides a decent defense and Magick resistance stat, this armor is one of many to reduce the amount of damage a player or their pawn takes from strikes. This armor is only made better through the assortment of deliberation resistancies.
Vocation | Thief |
---|---|
Defense | 140 |
Magick Resistance | 84 |
Slash Resistance | 0 |
Strike Resistance | 5 |
Knockdown Resistance | 35 |
Elemental Resistances | None |
Debilitation Resistancies | +5% Blighted, +5% Sleep, & +5% Silence |
5 Godsbeast Scalecoat
Even Archers Avoid Strikes
- It can be purchased at Brokkr's Smithy or dropped by an elite golem in an unmarked cave south of the Riftstone of Uniformity. This can only be found during the endgame.
Like in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, the Magick Archer vocation continues to be one of the most loved classes in the game. To encourage players to keep playing as the archer that fires Magick at its foes, the armor needs to keep them protected, too.
A great choice for Magick Archers looking for strike resistance is the Godsbeast Scalecoat, which can only be earned during the endgame of Dragon's Dogma 2. The armor is only made better by the assortment of elemental resistancies it has, too.
Vocation | Magick Archer |
---|---|
Defense | 144 |
Magick Resistance | 154 |
Slash Resistance | 0 |
Strike Resistance | 5 |
Knockdown Resistance | 35 |

4 Grand Curiass
Stylish But Protective
- It can be purchased from Bodas' Armory.
Grand Curiass is arguably one of the nicest looking body armor for players who are hoping to play as a Fighter or Warrior, but this set has more than just looks going for it if players are looking for a great piece of armor to wear that has strike resistance.
It may not have any elemental or deliberation resistancies, but this doesn't stop the Grand Curiass from being a great option in Dragon's Dogma 2 if players are expecting to be subjected to a lot of physical damage.
Vocation | Fighter & Warrior |
---|---|
Defense | 166 |
Magick Resistance | 66 |
Slash Resistance | 0 |
Strike Resistance | 5 |
Knockdown Resistance | 54 |
Elemental Resistances | None |
Debilitation Resistancies | None |
3 Dvarapala
An Armor Fit For Guardians
- It can be purchased at the Bay Wayside Shrine, but only during the endgame.
The thief vocation is one of many starting vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2. While many players may feel encouraged to try many of the others unlocked through adventuring, the thief vocation is arguably one of the best. This continues to be the case when looking for armor with impressive strike resistance.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Best Armor For Knockdown Resistance
A good defense is a solid offense. For the best knockdown resistance in Dragon's Dogma 2, here are the armor pieces players should go for.
Dvarapala is a set of armor that players won't unlock until the end of the game, but is by far the best when it comes to not only strike resistance, but also defending against the other damage types too.
Vocation | Thief |
---|---|
Defense | 192 |
Magick Resistance | 135 |
Slash Resistance | 5 |
Strike Resistance | 5 |
Knockdown Resistance | 38 |

2 August Dalmatica
Robes Can Defend Against Strikes Too
- It is dropped by a Wight inside the Enoa'Battahl Cavern.
Although at first glance, the August Dalmatica robe may look like quite the weak piece of armor in Dragon's Dogma 2. However, for mages who are looking for armor with the best strike resistance, this is by far one of the best.
Many of the other vocations naturally already have a boost to this resistance, but mages need extra help through their armor. Besides this, the August Dalamatica is perfect for defending against Magick hits and looking like a proper mage.
Vocation | Mage |
---|---|
Defense | 82 |
Magick Resistance | 101 |
Slash Resistance | 6 |
Strike Resistance | 6 |
Knockdown Resistance | 33 |
Elemental Resistances | None |
Debilitation Resistancies | None |
1 Arch-Conjuror's Robe
Tricksters Resist Strikes As They Create Illusions
- It can be purchased from Brokkr's Smithy but only during the endgame, but it also has a small percent chance of being dropped by the Lesser Dragon.
Out of all the available armor in Dragon's Dogma 2, it may come to some players' surprise that the best armor to have strike resistance was made for one of the least-used vocations in the RPG.
Tricksters need to stay out of combat as much as possible to keep up their illusions. Therefore, having a large strike resistance as well as high resistance in many other stats too, makes Arch-Conjuror's Robe not only the best armor for tricksters, but the best armor overall for best strike resistance too.
Vocation | Trickster |
---|---|
Defense | 130 |
Magick Resistance | 182 |
Slash Resistance | 8 |
Strike Resistance | 8 |
Knockdown Resistance | 36 |
Elemental Resistances | +15% Lightning |
Debilitation Resistancies | +5% Blighted, +5% Sleep, & +5% Silence |
