Dragon’s Dogma 2 has a world whose scale is nothing short of a technical marvel. With countless activities to partake in, intricate level designs to explore, and interesting NPCs to meet, the amount of information on players’ screens can be often overwhelming. This also applies to the map, which is cluttered with a plethora of map icons.

Thus, the guide will provide a simplified explanation and function of all the map icons in Dragon’s Dogma 2 to ease up players’ navigation as they continue to explore a big dense open world.

How To Use The Dragon's Dogma 2 Map

In order to boot up the map, players can simply press the touchpad on the PlayStation or the View button on Xbox. Here, the world map is displayed with previously visited areas highlighted. A more granular view of the map is possible by clicking on respective cities or town settlements, which will then display a host of interesting map icons. At any given point, the player can instantly move the map cursor to their location with the left stick. Additionally, up to five custom markers can be placed around the map going from Roman numbers I to V, by pressing the waypoint button (right stick). In order to replace or completely erase the marker, just simply press X/A on it and choose the desired option.

There are a total of ten Vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2, but the Arisen can only select one of these four at the beginning of the game.

What Do The Map Icons Mean?

Map Icons in Dragon's Dogma 2

By pressing Triangle/Y on the World Map, the list of facilities can be brought up, with a descriptor for each of the icons. However, other icons, including Portcrystals, Campsites, Settlements, etc., will not be viewable in the legend. In the table below, all the icons along with their titles and short descriptions. Any Map Icons missing will be updated as soon as we encounter them in game.
