Dragon Quest is a varied franchise when it comes to video games, with the mainline RPGs being joined by a Minecraft-inspired subseries, a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and even a Pokemon GO-style AR game that was recently trending on Twitter. Outside of that medium the series hasn’t been quite as prominent, but this weekend will see the premiere of the anime Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai.

It’s been a few months since Square Enix first unveiled its plans for the first new Dragon Quest animated series in decades, but the wait is finally over. Toei Animation, the studio producing the series, announced that The Adventure of Dai is premiering in various regions across the world, around the same time as it's premiering in Japan.

The first episode can now be viewed on different streaming websites, though where fans can watch it varies by region. According to Toei’s announcement, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai is available on Hulu and Crunchyroll in the US. Crunchyroll is also streaming the series throughout North and Latin America, as well as parts of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. Anime Digital Network is handling streaming duties in France.

The Adventure of Dai aims to provide content for fans of the classic fantasy adventure style that Dragon Quest is known for. Alongside the anime, Square Enix is working on tie-in games that will be coming out over the next year or so. This includes Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai - Xross Blade, the series’ first arcade title, which is set to debut in Japanese arcades later this month.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai is now streaming on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Anime Digital Network.
