To date, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players have been given a plethora of content to build hype for its upcoming "A New Awakening (Part I: Whis' Training)" DLC. There has been a teaser trailer, screenshots, and a character reveal in Oracle Fish, but despite this, there are just as many questions as there are answers.

One such question is whether or not Super Saiyan God Goku and Vegeta are just transformations for their base form or are their own independent characters. This question exists because, by all reports, this DLC can be started well before beating the game or even beating Raditz for that reason. A new Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot screenshot seemingly reveals that players will get their hands on Super Saiyan God Goku around level 100, which just throws another wrench into that scenario and could suggest that the former isn't true.

Namely, most screenshots shown so far indicate that this is the earliest stages of Whis' training, as images have shown that he offers a level 5 training that jumps to level 25. Its close proximity to images indicate that it seems possible that Super Saiyan God Goku is unlocked by that first level of training, which means that players can take over SSG Goku and Vegeta and hit that level mark well before defeating Raditz via this DLC.

This is only supplemented by the various DBZ: Kakarot screenshots that show SSG goku fighting Raditz and SSG Vegeta fighting Dodoria. Since the Time Machine doesn't allow for forms to be taken that far back, they have to be unlocked early in the DLC, but level 100 is so much. However, a level 1-level 5 Super Saiyan God Goku would be as underwhelming as unlocking it at 100 would be overwhelming. Beerus' level is shown at 100 as well, suggesting that he is indeed another endgame boss and draws into question the validity of doing this early, despite the aforementioned screenshots.

On the other hand, it could be that this particular screenshot is taken upon completing Whis' training at this level, which means that the level 5 and 25 training sessions would be child's play at that point. Or another possibility is that this is a screenshot from a file who has completed the training and just leveled Super Saiyan God Goku up to 100, but again, the image is clearly on Beerus' planet.

Since these are titled Boss Battle episodes now, as opposed to original story episodes, this could be a suggested level for taking Beerus on, as many of the game's toughest boss cap off at this point. Players can push it further to 250, and it'll be interesting to see how SSG ranks among DBZ: Kakarot's Power Level rankings.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. DLC 1 is set to release in Spring 2020.
