The upcoming action-RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has had a strong presence at Gamescom. Not only has Bandai Namco released a new trailer showing Teen Gohan gameplay, but it also gave a proper reveal to Bonyu, the brand new character that was first confirmed earlier this week.

Bandai Namco has released two new images for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, one that shows the Ginyu Force doing their signature pose, and one that shows character art for Bonyu. For the uninitiated, Bonyu was once the sixth member of the Ginyu Force, but she had a falling out with the team. It's unclear if she will be a friend or foe in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, but players will find out once they complete her side quest. Details on what Bonyu's side quest will entail are unavailable at this time, but Bandai Namco has described it as "important," so it will be interesting to see what it's all about when the game launches in 2020.

The inclusion of the Ginyu Force means that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot includes the Frieza Saga, but fans should know that the story in the game will extend beyond that as well. It's been confirmed that the Cell Saga will also be featured in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, so it seems that the new game will explore quite a bit of the Dragon Ball Z story.

It remains to be seen if Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will actually encompass the entirety of the Dragon Ball Z storyline. If so, then fans can also expect the Buu Saga to be featured in the game as well, though that has yet to be confirmed at this time. It's possible that the Buu Saga may be saved for a potential sequel, or that it will be added post-launch as DLC.

In the meantime, if Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is successful, one has to imagine that action-RPG adaptations of other Dragon Ball manga and anime series could be a possibility. It'd be interesting to see the original Dragon Ball story adapted, as well as Dragon Ball Super. But fans will have to wait and see if Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot lives up to expectations first.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will launch in early 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
