Despite being available for six years, Bandai Namco is not ending its support for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 any time soon as it is set to release Hero of Justice Pack 1 for players keen for more Dragon Ball Super content. The pack, as with previous content releases, will bring new characters to the game in the forms of Gamma 1, Gamma 2, and Gohan from the recent film, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, along with a slew of other content to enjoy. It will also include a swath of additional content for players to dig into, though the new characters appear to be the main focus of the new pack.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was originally released in October 2016, which was a relatively short turnaround for a sequel following the February 2015 release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The game continued the long line of 3D fighting games set inside the Dragon Ball universe, allowing players to battle as some of the series' most iconic characters in highly destructible environments to capture the anime's feel. Narratively, it picks up after the first game and follows the player's character as they venture across time to stop a pair of demons attempting to upset the series' history by aiding the many villains Goku and his friends have battled.

As mentioned above, the latest content pack is centered on Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and brings three of the film's biggest characters to the game. Androids Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 are the newest characters joining the fray while the film's rendition of adult Gohan is the newest variant of the character alongside other versions, including teen Gohan from the Cell Saga and The Great Saiyaman. Additional content available includes four new quests, new skills, new costumes, and more for players to enjoy.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero released in June 2022 is only the second film in Super's continuity following the 2018 release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly. The film, much like Xenoverse 2, pulled heavily from the franchise's history with nods to the Red Ribbon Army Saga from the original Dragon Ball series along with the Android Saga and Cell Saga from Dragon Ball Z. It served to give Gohan and Piccolo a much-needed power boost, as well, in the forms of Gohan Beast and Orange Piccolo to help the characters stand alongside Goku, Vegeta, and Broly as they continue to grow stronger.

Once the Hero of Justice Pack 1 releases, the question then becomes what Bandai Namco could include inside pack 2. Bandai Namco has plenty to pull from inside Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Piccolo and Cell Max stand out as two of the more likely character options available for a second content pack based on the film. However, there are plenty of others available to choose from including a young Pan, police officer Krillin, an older Android 18, or Fat Gotenks if Bandai Namco wants to add a little more humor to the game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
