The upcoming Season 2 of Dragon Ball: The Breakers, starting February 16, is set to introduce one of the franchise's most iconic characters to the game as a Raider. The release of the asymmetrical Dragon Ball Z game late last year was a stark contrast to the franchise's typical fanfare of high-powered action and fighting games. Rather than putting players in charge of the main heroes, the game tasks a team of seven ordinary people with surviving against powerful villains like Cell and Frieza. Now, the newest update features one of Dragon Ball's most beloved characters.

While the asymmetrical multiplayer game sets itself apart from other Dragon Ball Z games, Dragon Ball: The Breakers has been met with largely mixed reception since its launch. Fans have been critical of the game's small roster with many of the franchise's most iconic characters not included. Matchmaking was also a major issue early in the game's life with frequent connection errors and issues with cross-platform play. Now, the game's roster is set to grow with multiple familiar faces joining the game including the fearsome Prince of Saiyans, Vegeta.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers officially unveiled its plans for Season 2 with a trailer hyping the February 16 release date, showing off the game's newest Raider along with several new Survivors. Vegeta will join the game as the newest villain for players to battle, making several references to iconic scenes from the anime and including his Great Ape form as well. Survivors are receiving a trio of new skins with fan-favorite characters like Chi-Chi and Yajirobe introduced. The trailer also features the Saibamen and Nappa, included as Vegeta's earlier forms.

The suite of new characters available on Season 2's launch was joined by several other additions revealed for Season 2's launch on Thursday. Two new Transpheres will be added to Dragon Ball: The Breakers with players able to unlock the powerful Super Saiyan forms for Goku and Gohan. Several new cosmetics were revealed based on other parts of the franchise, with Dragon Ball GT particularly featuring in Goku's Gi as well as Trunk's outfit from the sequel. Rocky Field, where Goku first battled Vegeta, will also be added as a new map through a free update.

The release of Dragon Ball: The Breakers' Season 2 comes as the Dragon Ball franchise has been featured in several games recently. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot launched its next-gen versions with the game debuting on PS5 last month and Xbox Series X earlier this month. Dragon Ball also saw a return to Fortnite in another collaboration event with new additions based on last year's Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie. Vegeta's addition to Dragon Ball: The Breakers looks to be a crowd-pleaser with one of the franchise's most beloved characters coming to the game.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
