Dragon Ball Super chapter 96 dropped earlier this month and it was certainly a very intriguing addition to the current arc featuring the Red Ribbon Army. This group of villains is very iconic in the Dragon Ball series and fans remember them from OG Dragon Ball, where they play the big role, as well as Dragon Ball Z, where remnants of them led to the creation of the Androids.
In Dragon Ball Super, the Red Ribbon Army is resurgent and fans have seen their creation in action over the course of the last few chapters already. Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 have played a significant role in the arc already and shown the fans what they are capable of. In the previous chapter, it was time for Cell Max to finally awaken and that is precisely where Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 is going to take the fans.
Cell Max Vs Gammas
Towards the end of the last chapter, fans saw Cell Max finally awaken from his slumber and launch into the world incomplete. This means that Cell Max is going to go on a rampage and fans already saw a glimpse of that towards the end of the previous chapter. Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 will most likely continue from here onwards and show fans what Cell Max is capable of. Of course, around him are a lot of fighters at the moment and all of them will take a stand against him in this fight. The Gammas are likely to fight against him in the next chapter and that is something that fans are very excited to see.
In the previous chapter, the Gammas finally came to the conclusion that they were fighting on the wrong side. This means they are now going to fight against evil and team up with the Z Warriors. Fans have seen the Gammas in combat already and they are pretty powerful. This means that they are likely going to test their skill against the powerful Cell Max in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97. While it is great to have the Gammas on the side of the protagonist of this arc, fans must remember that they will mostly be used to hype up Cell Max and his devastating power. He is, after all, the ultimate creation and his strength is going to be ridiculously high, enough to overpower both Gammas at the same time. That is precisely what fans are going to see in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 and fans hope that Toyotaro adds his own twists to what was displayed in the movie.
The Power Of Cell Max
The power of Cell Max is going to be at the center of Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97. Previously, the manga did well to showcase the power of the Gammas that were created by Dr. Hedo. However, his ultimate creation is, of course, Cell Max and now, the beast has been awakened. Even though Cell Max is not complete at the moment, fans know for a fact that he's going to be extremely overpowered and his strength will be put on display in the next chapter. As mentioned previously, the Gammas will be seen fighting against him in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97. However, at the same time, other warriors will also be seen in action.
Fans know that Goten and Trunks are at the scene at the moment and they are likely going to try their luck against Cell Max. This could also mean that fans will see their fusion technique in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97. Fans have not seen these two characters fuse in a very long time and this is the perfect opportunity for them to pull off Gotenks and display their new transformation as grown-up teens. At the same time, the other fighters around will also try their luck against Cell Max in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 as well. Gohan is certainly among the strongest around and fans might see him in action as well. However, the vast majority of the action is likely to be around the Gammas and potentially Gotenks. These characters will most definitely lose their battles and give the stage to the likes of Gohan and Piccolo to work their magic.
Piccolo In Action
At the moment, Piccolo is the strongest fighter that the Z Warriors have. His strength will most certainly be put on display in Dragon Ball Super chapter 97.
In the previous chapter, fans saw his Orange Piccolo transformation and, needless to say, his powers are overwhelming. He was able to defeat one of the Gammas extremely easily, which means that now, it is time for him to test his powers against Cell Max. Piccolo is going to be able to put up a fight against the monstrous being, given that he is extremely powerful at the moment, capable of rivaling the likes of Goku and Vegeta. However, whether he will be able to keep up against the likes of Cell Max remains to be seen. The good thing is, fans can still expect to see great stuff from Piccolo, such as his gigantification powers, which have not been seen in the series for a very long time. If the manga is going to follow the movie closely, then Piccolo is going to gigantify himself in the next chapter and fight against Cell Max, only to be edged out by him.
Nonetheless, fans will definitely get an intense display from Piccolo, where he proves that he is able to put up a fight against even someone as strong as Cell Max in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97. His power-up is certainly deserved, given that he has been on the sidelines for way too long. It remains to be seen if the next chapter of DBS also showcases the defeat of Piccolo. If that is the case then Gohan would be the next to step in and save the day.
Gohan's Last Stand
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 could also end up focusing on Gohan. Fans know that Gohan was extremely important in the Android Saga in Dragon Ball Z. He was the one who ended up fighting against Cell and right now, he is also Central to the current arc. Piccolo's plan was to get Gohan used to fighting once again so he is ready if a threat ever arises and, so far, while he has done well, he has not hit a new level. Piccolo recently unlocked a new transformation, called Orange Piccolo and he is levels above Gohan in terms of strength right now. This only means that Gohan needs to level up as well and, given that Cell Max is the ultimate enemy of the arc, Gohan will have to step up a big time. Gohan was the one who defeated the original Perfect Cell and this time around, he has to defeat a stronger version of him.
Gohan will most definitely unlock a new transformation, just as he did in the movie Super Heroes, however, it remains to be seen whether this happens in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 or not. Given that the manga is moving at a very fast pace, it is entirely possible that towards the end of the chapter, fans will see the awakening of Beast Gohan. Fans have been eagerly waiting for Gohan to return to fighting and to hit the next level that he requires to compete with the likes of Goku and Vegeta once again. The opportunity for him to shine is here and Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 could make great progress in that regard.
