With 164 playable characters expected at launch, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero looks set to become the most content-rich Dragon Ball game ever made. This makes sense, really, given that the developers are able to draw from characters from the Dragon Ball Super anime and manga in addition to those introduced throughout all of the Dragon Ball media from the eighties and early nineties.
Dragon Ball Games With The Most Playable Characters
These Dragon Ball games top the charts thanks to having the most impressive playable character rosters in the franchise.
Granted, Goku and Vegeta make up a significant proportion of the game's playable characters, but there are still plenty of options for those looking to mix things up a little. Dragon Ball Super is particularly well represented, making Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero a great entry point to the Budokai Tenkaichi series for newer fans of the franchise.
Updated June 28, 2024, by Tom Bowen: Roster Update 5 is centered around melee combat and introduces ten new playable characters to the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero roster. This includes Goku's Ultra Instinct and Ultra Instinct -Sign- forms, as well as a bunch of other new characters and transformations from Dragon Ball Super. Together, they bring the total number of playable characters in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero up to 100, meaning that most of the full roster has now been revealed. There are still a ton of iconic Dragon Ball characters missing though, including some of the series' very best villains, so fans of the franchise should keep their eyes peeled for future updates.
