Goku and Vegeta might get all the Saiyan glory, recognized by diehard fans and people who have never seen a single episode of Dragon Ball alike, but Gohan has just as much to offer as his father when it comes to both fighting and fashion.

Just like Dragon Ball fans have had the pleasure of watching Goku throughout his entire life, fans have been able to watch Gohan go from swaddled baby to battle-scarred warrior. He's had plenty of unique looks over the years, but here are his very best.

10 Safari Outfit

Dragon Bal - Safari Gohan

Most fans might not think highly of Tree of Might when compared to some better films in the franchise, but the movie has at least one redeeming feature: child Gohan's safari outfit. Stuffing a kid in a gray explorer's uniform, complete with a ridiculously oversized backpack, may not seem like a recipe for fashion greatness, but Gohan pulls it off.

Yes, the look pulls on every kawaii anime trope it needs to in order to work, but work it does, showing a more playful version of Gohan than is seen in the character's later years.

9 Buu Saga

Dragon Ball - Buu Saga Gohan

Taking a quick glance at any picture of Gohan from the Buu Saga, it's easy to mistake him for his father: from his Gi to his hair to his body type, Gohan has grown up into exactly the kind of fighter that his Goku is. In some ways, Gohan's look during the Buu Saga is his most expected.

There's nothing strange or flashy to differentiate it from his look in similar Gi's, or even from his little brother Goten. That's not necessarily a bad thing, however, as it serves as a touchstone for his other attire.

8 Cell Saga

Dragon Ball - Cell Saga Gohan

Gohan's look during the Cell Saga is one of his fiercest. His all-purple Gi is clearly inspired by his look during the Saiyan Saga, but it has a much more mature design overall. It's also nice that both his father's and Piccolo's influence as teachers are apparent in the outfit, with Gohan going so far as to incorporate Piccolo's cape.

The Cell Saga also happens to feature Gohan reaching Super Saiyan 2, and between his crackling aura, grim expression, and simple attire, the Saiyan has rarely looked so dangerous.

7 Tracksuit

Dragon Ball - Tracksuit Gohan

It's always interesting seeing how Saiyans look in human clothes, and it's safe to say that everyday garments come more naturally to some characters than others. Unlike Vegeta, who often seems uncomfortable in anything but armor, Gohan makes a variety of comfortable outfits work.

His green tracksuit is a perfect example of this. It's comfy and casual, but with its sleek lines and dual coloration, it's easy to see echoes of the fighting Gi's that both he and his father grew up with. In all, the tracksuit is a nice middle-ground for Gohan aesthetically.

6 Father Gohan

Dragon Ball - Father Gohan

Goku isn't the only member of his family who gets to experience the highs and lows of parenthood throughout the series. His son Gohan gets to share that experience, becoming a father and learning what being in an adult relationship is really like.

Something about a suit and bowtie just complements Gohan's glasses, making him seem every bitter the sweet family man that he is. He might not share all of his father's sartorial sensibilities, but Gohan certainly shares Goku's sense of responsibility for and commitment to his loved ones.

5 Namek Saga

Dragon Ball - Namek Saga Gohan

Gohan's look during the Namek Saga is a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, it's easily one of his most iconic, which isn't surprising since it's also one of his earliest. This is Gohan before he's distinguished himself as a warrior of the same caliber as his father, after all.

The basic blue suit with a white collar is strong, but his bowl cut is rather divisive. Some fans hate it, while others feel like it's fitting and speaks to his boyish nature. Gohan is capable of great bravery in defense of his loved ones but not getting a decent haircut, apparently.

4 High School

Game ZXC - High School Gohan

Gohan's high school look combines several features present in most of his best looks: a sleek form reminiscent of his Gi, high contrast colors, and a smattering of visual interest without being too distracting. It's not exactly an outfit one would expect to see from a typical high schooler, but a typical high schooler Gohan is not.

For a half-alien resident of earth, Gohan's idea of a high school outfit feels right. It also feels distinct from the rest of his outfits throughout the series, carving out a unique visual space of its own.

3 Raditz Fight

Dragon Ball - Raditz Fight Gohan

Young Gohan wore a variety of memorable outfits, but none are better than the brightly colored ensemble he wore during the fight against Raditz. Its eye-popping colors and traditional forms would be enough in themselves to make the Raditz fight outfit one of Gohan's best, but it doesn't end there.

Gohan wears an actual Dragon Ball as a topper for his hat, which is so over-the-top, memorable, and absurd that it elevates the entire outfit as a result. Is it impractical? Absolutely. But carrying a wish-granting ball around on one's skull is next-level cool.

2 Future Gohan

Dragon Ball - Future Gohan

Many things are different in the timeline from which Future Trunks hails, and one of those is Gohan's appearance. Things haven't been easy on Gohan in the future, and he bears an imposing scar across his left cheek thanks to his fight against the Androids.

Even more shockingly, Future Gohan is missing his left arm. From his scarred features to the way his empty sleeve flaps at his side, Future Gohan is an unforgettable, haunting look at a future that might be, and it easily ranks amongst Gohan's best looks of all time.

1 Great Saiyaman

Dragon Ball - Great Saiyaman Gohan

A dew rag, sunglasses, chunky belt, green shirt, and helmet inspired by Kamen Rider – these simple ingredients combine to make Gohan's greatest look in Dragon Ball. Great Saiyaman is more than just a quirky alter ego, it's the way Gohan pictures superheroes, despite growing up with a father who can literally fly, shoot energy beams, and punch through mountains.

Not only is the Great Saiyaman memorable as a look, but it's also telling of so much about Gohan's personality: from his innate sense of goodness and justice to his teenage awkwardness.
