Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is one of the most beloved transformations in the entire Dragon Ball franchise due to his charisma, power, and unique design. Fans have mixed feelings on Super Saiyan 4 as a transformation, but it's hard to dislike Gogeta. RELATED: 10 Current-Gen Fighting Games You Should Be Playing Right Now
Gogeta only appeared in Dragon Ball GT for a few minutes, but his presence was so heavily focused on that it felt like he was there a lot longer. He also appears in a lot of video games like the
Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi games as a transformation character whose power levels are off the charts. His addition to Dragon Ball Fighterz also raises a few questions that should be addressed.

15 Minutes Of Fame

Gogeta makes an appearance at the very end of Dragon Ball GT , during the fight against Omega Shenron. Once Goku and Vegeta transform, Gogeta only gets a total of 13 minutes of screen time. Knowing this, it really says a lot about how iconic his design must be for fans to want him in Dragon Ball Fighterz, even though he appears for so little time.
The same can be said for the other fusion forms that really only appear for a few minutes at a time during the final battle of a DBZ arc or movie. Gogeta blue only shows up at the end of the Super Broly movie, and Vegito blue appears to take down fused Zamasu at the end of the Goku Black arc in Dragon Ball Super.

The Strongest Form?

Since GT isn't canon, fans can only speculate how strong Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is in comparison to other forms . What fans do know is that Gogeta is a stronger fusion than Vegito from the potara earrings so that's a start. The real question is if Super Saiyan 4 is as strong as Super Saiyan God.
The best bet is to look at Super Dragon Ball Heroes which pits the two forms against each other, and they seem evenly matched. Super Saiyan God's potential is definitely higher than Super Saiyan 4, but they both have similar means of obtaining them so it makes sense that they'd be evenly powerful at base form.

Playful Personality

The most interesting aspect of fusion in Dragon Ball is that the fusions aren't just a mash up of two different people put into one. The fused being is their own person of sorts with their own personality and values. Even though Gogeta was only on screen for a bit, fans got a good look at their sense of humor and urgency. Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta plays around with Omega Shenron even though the fate of the world is in jeopardy because he's just that powerful. If the fusion lasted longer, he would've easily defeated Shenron, but he chose not to because he was too relaxed and didn't feel threatened. Gogeta in other iterations has also appeared to be cocky and laid back during battles because there's almost nobody who can challenge his strength. The taunts, goading, and hubris seem to be a mix of Vegeta's confidence and Goku's happy-go-lucky attitude.

Positive Vibes Only

While this version of Gogeta can only stay fused for 10 minutes, and he appeared for a measly 13 minutes of screen time,  he served his purpose in a way , even though he didn't defeat Omega Shenron. Before he defused, he was able to trick Shenron into releasing a negative karma ball aimed at destroying the people of Earth. After the negative karma ball was released, Gogeta infused it with his own energy, completely negating the negative side of it, and turning it into a positive karma ball. The attack went off like a nuclear bomb, but reversed the flow of energy left behind by the other shadow dragons, and helped save Earth.

Too Much Strength For His Own Good

Goku and Vegeta performing the fusion dance
A big reason fans speculate Gogeta might be the strongest form in the Dragon Ball universe is because of how ineffective Shenron's attacks were on him and the time limit for his fusion. Gotenks is a character formed by similar fusion methods whose time limit was longer than Gogeta's 10 minutes because they weren't too powerful of a being. Gogeta's time limit was extra restricted because that kind of strength takes a lot of energy to hold together.
The way those fusions work is basically, the stronger the fusion, the less time they can stay bound. This is why the potara earrings are so powerful because they allow for permanent fusion at the cost of some strength.

Veku

FighterZ fans were hoping for a character to add a fusion mechanic to the game, and Gogeta would have been the perfect place to start. Veku is the result of a failed fusion between Goku and Vegeta who is much weaker than Gogeta. This form appears as either a fat fusion or an extremely skinny fusion of the two characters. Veku would've been a fun side effect to add to Dragon Ball FighterZ  if players input a fusion incorrectly without precise timing. In the movies Veku appears in , he's usually the product of one of the two character's incorrectly positioning their feet or not extending a finger properly. Super Saiyan 4 Veku has never appeared, but he'd probably look even funnier than he does in base form.

Dragon Balls

Since
Dragon Ball GT was all about how the people of Earth became too complacent with the use of the Dragon Balls it's only fitting that Gogeta in FighterZ makes a point of that in his special mechanic. Normally, players have to complete an auto combo or a combo with a certain amount of hits to gain a dragon ball during the fight. Gogeta turns this concept on its head.
Gogeta is able to gain a dragon ball every time he uses his Plus Energy Of Justice attack. This attack gains the Dragon Balls in the specific order they defeated the shadow dragons in GT, which is a nice Easter Egg.

Taunt Mechanic

The biggest thing Gogeta showcased in his 13 minutes of screen time was his tendency to taunt and gloat in front of his enemy. The other versions of Gogeta did this as well since they're aware of how powerful they are. In Dragon Ball Fighterz , Gogeta can taunt his opponent during the fight to power up his super moves. The power-ups become more and more substantial until he reaches level 7, which makes his level 3 super a one-hit kill attack. It's possible this could change the meta of the game forever, but it's also possible that it's more of a gimmick than anything. Only time will tell.

The Party Popper

Doing a fake kamehameha on Shenron
Gogeta's most iconic moment against Shenron is when he forces the shadow dragon into a checkmate position using his overwhelming speed and threatens to blast him away with a super powerful kamehameha. Shenron cowers in fear until he realizes that Gogeta just pranks him with a party popper and laughs in his face.
This moment is hilarious and fun but it raises some questions. Where did Gogeta get the party popper? The surrounding city is literally burned to ashes, so he must've traveled miles away in seconds while nobody noticed him get it. Either that or his ki control is so perfect (Gogeta has the best ki control of any form) that he can make matter from just his ki. Either theory is pretty outlandish and it was probably just a gag the writers didn't think much about but it could be a bit more than that.

Dramatic Finish

The developers of Dragon Ball FighterZ showed their love for the franchise by including a dramatic finish between the two Gogeta forms , illustrating the question fans have been speculating about: which Gogeta is stronger? The dramatic finish can end both ways, having either form of Gogeta win, implying they're on equal footing.
What's really interesting about the dramatic finish is the purple, reality-shattering effect that appears when the two beams of Gogeta clash. This effect has appeared before in the Dragon Ball Super: Broly Movie when Gogeta and Broly fight, entering what appears to be another dimension formed from their destructive power. Since Gogeta is stronger than Broly, it's cool to see how a clash between the universe's strongest beings would go down, and that it would not be an easy fight.
