With Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 right around the corner, fans are getting more and more riled up to see their favorite Dragon Ball characters in the newest entry to the Budokai Tenkaichi series. Seeing as Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was the last title in the series (released in 2004), Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has a lot more to include as compared to the previous title.

With Dragon Ball Super, new movies, and manga features, there have been many new faces in the Dragon Ball universe that the newest game can incorporate. This fact alone makes it so that Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has the potential to have the greatest roster in Dragon Ball gaming yet.

10 Ultra Instinct Goku

Of course, Ultra Instinct Goku would be one of the most obvious choices for the new Dragon Ball fighting game. If the transformation mechanics work just like they did in previous Budokai Tenkaichi titles, fans may be able to play as a present-day Goku with the ability to use the Ultra Instinct technique.

Along with the powerful transformation, Goku would be granted access to a variety of godlike moves, such as Ultra Instinct's signature Kamehameha wave that slides past opposing ki blasts. It's interesting to wonder how Ultra Instinct would switch up the fighting mechanics in a game like Budokai Tenkaichi.

9 Jiren

As the main opposing force in the Tournament of Power, Jiren would be a no-brainer for a spot on the roster in Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4. Upon his reveal in both the manga and anime, Jiren became an instant hit with the Dragon Ball community, as no enemy had appeared as fierce, yet meditative before.

In fact, Jiren was the sole being who pushed Goku passed his Saiyan limits into Ultra Instinct, giving evidence as to how immensely powerful Jiren truly is. Better yet, Jiren could have a short transformation or limited boost that places him at full power, where his body receives a physically apparent buff like he had pulled off in the anime.

8 Beast Gohan

Beast Gohan-1

Hailed as one of the coolest and awaited transformations of all time within the Dragon Ball universe, is Gohan's Beast form. In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the fate of Earth was placed into Piccolo and Gohan's hands, forcing the two to chase after a power they hadn't ever withheld before.

When facing Cell Max, Gohan was forced to tap into his unlimited potential that had been hinted at throughout the entirety of Dragon Ball Z. This led to Gohan reaching his Beast form, which gives him long white hair, along with a unique aura and red eyes. Beast Gohan would be one of the best additions to Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4, as the half-Saiyan finally has a state to keep up with Goku and Vegeta.

7 Teen Goten and Trunks

DBS Super Hero- Goten and Trunks Fusion Dance

Though the two had remained small children for a large portion of Dragon Ball, Goten and Trunks finally launched into their teenage years after a time-jump in Dragon Ball Super. The two ran around as heroes throughout the Super Hero Saga in Dragon Ball Super, dawning costumes under the aliases, "Great Saiyaman X-1" and "Great Saiyaman X-2."

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi4 can break the pattern of the two characters relying solely on the Gotenks fusion to fight, and now fight as individual characters. Along with these two, an older Gotenks would be a fantastic contribution to the roster as well, or as a fusion in-game.

6 Orange Piccolo

Dragon Ball Super Super Hero – Orange Piccolo

Just like Gohan received a new change in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Piccolo had also been handed one. From what felt like something that should have happened years ago, Piccolo, a personality who trains harder or as hard as Goku and Vegeta, reached a level that may rival the likes of Super Saiyan Blue: Orange Piccolo.

Orange Piccolo is the result of Shenron awakening Piccolo's hidden power, along with the dragon combining his own power with Piccolo. This transformation would be a wonderful asset in Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4, and will finally give Piccolo a new mechanic to play around with.

5 God of Destruction — Lord Beerus

Dragon Ball Super - Beerus's Hakai Technique

Though it may feel like it has been out longer than it has, Battle of Gods came out in 2014. Seeing as the previous Budokai Tenkaichi game was released 10 years beforehand, one of the first (and most popular) Dragon Ball Super characters deserves a spot on Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi's roster.

This would be Lord Beerus, a God of Destruction who almost completely destroyed Earth before being intrigued by Goku's power. With Lord Beerus in Budokai Tenkaichi 4, there are more fighters to choose from that stray away from generic Saiyans and humans. Also, Beerus would have a very unique moveset unlike other 'more-alike' characters (Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, Trunks).

4 Ultra Ego Vegeta

ultra ego vegeta

Although the fighter has yet to see the light in the Dragon Ball anime, any movies, or any other mediums like video games, Budokai Tenkaichi 4 could be the best debut for Vegeta's new godly transformation. Ultra Ego, which is a physical transformation proving the mastery of Hakai used by the Gods of Destruction, is a form that Vegeta has finally come into contact with.

This new form puts Vegeta by Goku's side as a true rival once again and illustrates the type of mentality that Vegeta withholds while going into battle. Seeing this form in Budokai Tenkaichi 4 would be a feature that many fans would collectively enjoy.

3 Gogeta And Vegito (Super)

Vegito and Gogeta (Super Saiyan Blue)

In his base form, Vegito is already a force to be reckoned with, possessing strength rivaling the most fearsome adversaries in the Dragon Ball universe. His arsenal of techniques includes iconic moves like the Kamehameha and Final Flash, both of which he wields with unprecedented might.

On the other side of the fusion spectrum is Gogeta, a fusion achieved through the Fusion Dance technique. This form was first used to defeat Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Both fighters would make for incredible characters in Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4, as both wield Saiyan Blue and have outstanding moves unique to each fusion.

2 Black Frieza

Meet Black Frieza – Dragon Ball Super Chapter 87

Though Frieza had returned at the beginning of Dragon Ball Super with the brand-new Golden state he had earned from training, Frieza returned near the end of Dragon Ball Super once again with yet another form to show off. This form, which had been named "Black Frieza," was used to take on one of Dragon Ball Super's vicious villains, and also used by Frieza to take down Goku and Vegeta at the same time.

Black Frieza, menacing as he is, would be an undeniably fan-favorite character in Budokai Tenkaichi 4, and one of the strongest villains in the game. The villainous character can also bring in a set of moves that are as devastating as Black Frieza himself, such as the abdominal blows he performed on Goku and Vegeta.

1 Broly (DBS)

Dragon Ball Super Broly

Broly, the legendary Super Saiyan, has become an iconic figure in Dragon Ball, captivating fans with his immense power and tragic backstory. Introduced in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, this character has left a lasting impact that makes him a strong contender for inclusion in Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the character already had been a fan-favorite thanks to Dragon Ball Z movies featuring Broly, the canonical form of the beastly figure would certainly be one of the most chosen fighters in the game. His inclusion would undoubtedly enhance the game's diversity of fighting styles and add a new layer of excitement to battles.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi's release date is TBD.
