It's official; Goku and Gohan are set to wage battle in their most potent forms. Dragon Ball Super fans have been looking forward to this for a long time, and the time has finally arrived for this epic father-and-son sparring match.

In the previous chapter of Dragon Ball Super, many assumed that Goku teleporting to Earth to see Gohan would mean he would spar with him. In Chapter 102, fans receive confirmation that this showdown is about to happen. This fight can change the series' momentum depending on its outcome, and it can go in so many directions.

Dragon Ball Chapter 102 Confirmed Goku's Strongest Form

As Goku's sparing session with Gohan finally starts in DBS Chapter 102, Beerus confirms which form of Goku's is his strongest.

What Happened in Chapter 102

It begins right where Chapter 101 left off. Goku, Gohan, Trunks, Goten, and Vegeta all greet each other and discuss what happened with Cell Max. Gohan says he and Piccolo defeated Cell Max and reached new heights. Vegeta asks Goten and Trunks if they contributed to the fight, to which they exaggerate that they had a significant role to play.

Trunks and Goten vs. Gohan

After hearing that Goten and Trunks were essential players in the fight, Vegeta says the boys should fight Gohan before anything happens between Goku and Gohan. They waste little time getting to it, with the boys and Gohan fighting at Super Saiyan. Goten and Trunks put up a good fight, landing a couple of decent blows on Gohan, but for the most part, they are evenly matched.

Then, Gohan turns it up and goes into his ultimate form. The boys complain, saying it is unfair for him to transform into his ultimate form. As a result, the boys proceed to attempt fusion. Unsurprisingly, they transform into Fat Gotenks because they are way out of practice regarding fusion. Almost immediately following their botched fusion, Gohan kicks Fat Gotenks far away from the battlefield, decisively ending the fight.

Having defeated Goten and Trunks easily, Goku approaches his oldest son and challenges him to a fight. After telling each other not to hold back, Gohan transforms into his beast form. Vegeta, Beerus, and Whis are all impressed and shocked by the sheer power Gohan has in this form. Goku responds in kind by transforming into his MUI form, his most powerful form.

The battle went down. It lasts multiple chapters, with the tables turning slightly in each fighter's direction at specific points. Ultimately, Goku wins. If these events transpire, this will invoke the most negligible change in the series. Goku will still be the strongest alongside Vegeta, and they will probably square off with Black Frieza later in the arc.

However, if Gohan puts up a good fight, it could change his role in the series. He can officially be Earth's protector while Vegeta and Goku focus on reaching new levels of power and maybe even taking over for Beerus at some point as gods of destruction. Gohan would be in charge of things on Earth, potentially squaring off against some planetary threats.

In this version of the battle, Gohan is the victor. Goku and Gohan have a battle for the ages. It lasts multiple chapters and has unimaginably tense moments. Maybe the pair both reach new levels of power during the fight. If Gohan wins, this could potentially set the series on an entirely new and unexpected course.

Gohan could join Goku and Vegeta in their training with Beerus and Whis, or vice versa. While Goku could pass the torch, it is unlikely for that to happen as Goku and Vegeta seem only to be getting stronger. Gohan could be the main Z fighter to fight against Black Frieza. He could also be the secret weapon that turns the tide in what should be a massive showdown with Black Frieza.

The fact that this fight is happening means that some form of significant change is on the horizon in the Dragon Ball universe. A real Goku vs Gohan fight carries with it some high stakes that can alter the hierarchy of the characters in the show. No matter what happens in this fight, it is without a doubt going to be one of the most impactful fights of the series.
