Good Buu Is The Form Fans Have Come To Love

When Majin Buu was introduced into the franchise for the very first time, this is the form that he took and was also the form that the current version of Buu takes to signify that he is on the side of the good guys. Even though most thought of his initial appearance and childlike personality to be non-threatening, he quickly proved himself to be a strong and unpredictable monster.

This version of the character was created millions of years ago when the Grand Supreme Kai was absorbed by Buu's original form, resulting in his purity and goodness influencing the villain and giving birth to this 'Good' Buu. This version then separated from its Pure Evil counterpart and befriended Mr. Satan in the Buu Saga, proving itself as a valuable ally to the Z-Fighters since then.

Evil Buu Is A Terrifying Opponent

After absorbing the Grand Supreme Kai, Majin Buu took on a more kind-hearted and childish personality. However, there was still darkness and evil lurking within him. Then, in the Buu Saga, the good part of Buu was eventually separated from the evil part, which had a far more sinister and evil appearance that was drastically different from Good Buu. This transformation was skinny, tall, had gray skin and proceeded to go on a rampage of death and destruction as soon as he was formed, but not before easily overpowering Good Buu and eating him by turning him into chocolate.

Super Buu Destroyed Earth's Population

Krillin Killed by Super Buu

This version of the villain is the first one classified under the moniker of Super Buu. After absorbing Good Buu, this monster is the one who sticks around the story for the longest amount of time and, during this time, he causes an untold amount of devastation. His body becomes far more muscular and his overall strength also increases exponentially, to the point where he releases a massive Ki attack that kills almost everyone on the planet.

Super Buu is so strong that he takes on Gotenks, a fusion of Goten and Trunks, and makes short work of him. Since he is no longer restraining himself, Super Buu has all the strength of South Supreme Kai and uses it masterfully against Gotenks, going on to absorb him and most of the other characters on Kami's Lookout to get even stronger.

Piccolo Absorbed Super Buu Was A Smarter Fighter

Buu had always been a mindless monster whose entire goal in life was to go around and destroy everything that he came across. The reason why his absorption of Piccolo was so terrifying was because Piccolo is the smartest Z-Fighter of them all, which led to Buu now possessing his tactical mind, which made him smarter than ever.

Though this transformation didn't fare too well against Ultimate Gohan, Piccolo Buu's strength cannot be denied. His strategic mind was properly shown when he absorbed Ultimate Gohan, as both Goku and Gohan believed that Gohan could beat Buu but never accounted for him being absorbed by him.

Absorbing Gotenks Gave Super Buu The Strength Of A Fusion

Though this form was brief, it was quite memorable. After proving to be no match for Ultimate Gohan, Super Buu then surprised Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Piccolo alike by sneaking up behind them to successfully absorb the fighters, gaining enough power to overwhelm Gohan's strongest transformation. While the fusion was active, Super Buu was incredibly strong and was dishing out quite a lot of damage to Gohan until the timer ran out. After reverting to Piccolo Buu, he was then able to surprise Gohan and absorb him, turning into his most powerful form.

Ultimate Buu Is The Strongest Version Of Buu

Contrary to what many fans believe, Kid Buu is not the most powerful transformation of the villain. In fact, Buu's strongest incarnation came at the end of his battle against Ultimate Gohan, when he absorbed the Saiyan warrior and turned into Ultimate Buu, a walking calamity that was more powerful than any other villain that had ever been seen before in Dragon Ball.

This is because when Gohan unlocked his potential and gained his Ultimate form, he was the strongest character in the entire series by then, even eclipsing Super Saiyan 3 Goku. Due to this, the version of Buu that was formed from his absorption was so powerful that Goku and Vegeta had to fuse into the ultimate warrior, Vegito, to defeat him. Even though this was a very one-sided fight and Vegito's plan was to get absorbed in the first place, Ultimate Buu was still the strongest Super Buu had ever been.

Kid Buu Is The Villain's Original Form

Kid Buu in Dragon Ball Z

At the end of the Buu Saga, fans would see Majin Buu as he was millions of years ago, in the form that had been terrorizing the cosmos for eons. This version of Buu was much shorter and had the stature of a kid, hence his name. However, he only knew how to destroy and was far more animalistic than any of his previous iterations, as he even lost the ability to speak and could only grunt.

Though Kid Buu was weaker than Ultimate Buu, he was still far more dangerous due to him being much more sadistic and unpredictable, understanding nothing but destruction, which meant he could never be reasoned with or talked to as he only ever knew one thing. Super Saiyan 3 Goku was able to take him on in a one-on-one fight, eventually disintegrating the villain with a massive Super Spirit Bomb.

Dragon Ball can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
