The Dragon Ball series is full to the brim with some of the most memorable characters and moments in anime history. From the first legendary clash between Goku and Vegeta to the iconic Super Saiyan transformation — most fans of anime will credit Dragon Ball Z as the series that got them into this amazing entertainment medium.

In fact, the fandom surrounding Dragon Ball was so rabid that they ate up the idea of a sequel to Dragon Ball GT, unofficial or otherwise. This led to rumors about Dragon Ball AF that culminated in the creation of several fan-made works that are pretty entertaining to read in their own right. However, there are several aspects of this manga that makes no sense, with the following ten parts being especially egregious in this regard.

10 Goku Having An Illegitimate Son Comes Out Of Nowhere

Xicor declares his heritage in Dragon Ball AF

The idea of Xicor's conception is pretty neat. After all, a newfound son of Goku would obviously be one of the biggest threats to the entire universe and a pretty cool one too.

However, in practice, it's rather hard to write a story that would involve Goku's illegitimate child. Trying to explain away such an occurrence is a massive headache with no satisfactory answer.

9 How Was The West Supreme Kai Even In Yardrat, To Begin With?

West Supreme Kai from Dragon Ball

Goku's excursion on the planet of Yardrat allowed him to affiliate himself with the locals and learn an iconic move. The Instant Transmission technique is the stuff of legends, with most fans mimicking the simple yet memorable hand gesture of this move.

However, as per Dragon Ball AF's story, the West Supreme Kai was present in Yardrat at some point. How did she even find out about Goku's location in the first place, and how did she reach this planet without any of the other Kai's catching whiff of the same?

8 There's No Way She Survived Her Battle Against Kid Buu

West Supreme Kai vs Kid Buu in Dragon Ball Z

When Kid Buu goes on a rampage, he goes so far as to challenge the heavens themselves. This leads to a confrontation between this beast and all the Kais, with the West Supreme Kai also trying to give it her all in a battle against this monster.

However, Kid Buu is unimaginably strong and makes quick work of the West Supreme Kai. His energy blast had definitely left her for dead, so it's odd to see her up and about in her quest to destroy Earth.

7 It's Hard To Believe That The West Supreme Kai Is Frieza's Mother

Vegeta vs Frieza in Dragon Ball Z

One of the biggest reveals in Toyotaro's Dragon Ball AF is that the West Supreme Kai is actually Frieza's mother! She tried to make the ultimate soldier but failed after Goku destroyed this cocky emperor.

So, she decided to take Goku's DNA instead to create the perfect offspring for battle. It's a chain of events that's ludicrous from the very beginning.

6 The West Supreme Kai Suddenly Becomes An Antagonist

Perhaps the oddest part about the West Supreme Kai's inclusion in the story is the fact that she's even there, to begin with! Was there no other established character that Toyotaro could use as an antagonist instead?

As it stands, the West Supreme Kai feels shoehorned into the events of Dragon Ball AF. Sure, her inclusion leads to some interesting events and revelations but surely there was a better candidate for this role?

5 Vegeta Can Somehow Transform Into Super Saiyan 4 Without Needing The Blutz Waves

Dragon Ball GT Comparison of Vegeta in his first appearance in Gt vs Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta

During his fight against Xicor, Vegeta reveals that he can turn into Super Saiyan 4 at will. This was without the need of the Blutz Waves that Bulma could emit from her invention.

This feels like a cheap way to give Vegeta the ability to turn into a powerful warrior without requiring this invention. It's just a lazy way of turning Vegeta into a driving force in Dragon Ball AF.

4 Gohan's Super Saiyan 4 Transformation Also Feels Ludicrous

Dragon Ball AF Super Saiyan 4 Gohan

Let's face it — Gohan was absolutely useless during the events of Dragon Ball GT. His character has been woefully mistreated ever since the heights he reached during the Cell Saga.

So, Dragon Ball AF aims to make Gohan relevant again by giving him the Super Saiyan 4 transformation out of nowhere! It might be a cool moment, but the severe lack of explanation takes away from what should've been a moment of redemption for Gohan.

3 Reviving Broly Is A Completely Illogical Decision

Broly (Dragon Ball)

After finding out that the only way Goku could be revived is through the energies of seven Saiyans, the Z Warriors take one of the dumbest decisions of all time. Out of all the Saiyans that they could've revived the gang decides to revive the monstrous Broly.

While Broly's character develops quite a bit over the course of Dragon Ball AF, his resurrection is a huge plot hole in itself. How was Broly the only Saiyan that could be revived to bring back Goku? This was just needlessly stupid and complicated!

2 The Plotline Featuring Frieza's Son Feels Extremely Convenient

Ize shares the same monstrous forms as Frieza in Dragon Ball AF

Toyotaro isn't the only mangaka to have released a Dragon Ball AF manga of his own. Young Jijii is another artist who has released a popular Dragon Ball AF manga of his own.

In this manga, it's Frieza's son that takes center-stage as the antagonist of the first arc instead of Xicor. Again, this plot point comes out of nowhere especially since it was clearly established that Frieza didn't have any offspring in Dragon Ball Z!

1 The Way Ize Describes His Power Doesn't Even Make Him Seem Like All That Big Of A Threat

Ize from Dragon Ball AF

When Ize comes to Earth for revenge, he decides to intimidate Earth's defenders by describing just how powerful he is. He states that he's ten times stronger than Frieza, which shocks the Z Fighters, although that shouldn't be the case.

After all, the Z Warriors have dealt with threats that are at least a hundred times stronger than Frieza, if not more! Why does Ize become such an intimidating figure if — by his description — he's nowhere near as powerful as fighters like Cell and Kid Buu?
