Now, the better part of a decade after it was first announced, Dragon Age: The Veilguard fans finally have a morsel of gameplay footage to chew on. This in-engine sneak peek is only 24 seconds long, and features the beloved Varric and Rook, the dashing Dwarf Rogue and Dragon Age: The Veilguard protagonist respectively, entering Minrathous. Dragon Age: The Veilguard Gameplay Teaser

The dialogue shared between Varric and Rook indicates that the party is seeking out Neve Gallus, one of the new companions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, who has a lead on Solas. The quest objective also mentions Scout Harding, a familiar face from Dragon Age: Inquisition whom players can recruit in its sequel. During the clip, the camera also seems to transition seamlessly between cinematic and gameplay, promising a truly immersive RPG experience.

Varric: She's the best damn detective I've ever met. If she says she's got a lead on Solas, I believe her.

Rook: Should we be in more of a hurry to get out of here?

Varric: We don't want to look conspicuous. Just get out of here nice and casual, find Neve Gallus, and stop Solas.

This footage is just one small part of the full gameplay reveal Dragon Age: The Veilguard is debuting on June 11 at 8 AM PST/11 AM EST. Judging from this clip, players can expect to see a deep dive into the seedy streets of the Tevinter capital, meet a few of their allies, and learn a bit more about Solas’ schemes that the Veilguard must stop.

Players were excited to see this gameplay teaser from Dragon Age: The Veilguard. While many fans have immediately fallen in love with the companions shown in the Dragon Age: The Veilguard reveal trailer, many have been torn about the art direction the game has seemingly taken, as it has a more cell-shaded, cartoon-like feel, rather than the realism they are used to. However, even this glimpse of the gritty streets of Minrathous has dispelled many of these fears, and left them looking forward to the upcoming gameplay reveal even more than they already were.
