In celebration of Dragon Age Day, BioWare has released a new trailer for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, confirming its full reveal is coming in Summer 2024. Interestingly, this somewhat lines up with recent rumors suggesting that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf could release in fall 2024 or early 2025.

It remains to be seen, but the trailer is exciting nonetheless because it is very different from past trailers. Practically every trailer for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf thus far has largely focused on Solas, but this is not the case here. The Elven Mage behind the title of the game is not heard anywhere in the trailer, but it does tease a few possible new companions if the voiceover is anything to go by.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf - Possible Companions

While Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is confirmed to take place in Tevinter, Solas' plot to tear down the Veil impacts the whole world. As a result, BioWare has confirmed fans will be able to visit Rivain, Antiva, and the Anderfels in its accompanying blog post with this trailer. It first shows Antiva, where a female voice talks about the Crows of Antiva. It sounds like a female rogue associated with the Crows could be a possible companion. The second voice is harder to narrow down, but it's gruff and masculine, focused on Rivain and the Risen Gods. It also shows Weisshaupt Castle in the Anderfels, which is noteworthy because it sounds like a Grey Warden Commander could be a companion. This is also supported by previous trailers that confirmed the existence of Davrin, a Grey Warden tied to the game.

The last voiceover is the most intriguing. It's not an easily identifiable part of Thedas, there is no named landmark, and the voice is sinister stating that everyone will know the peace of their reign. Because of the crows here, it seems to be close to Antiva, but none of the water masses seemingly line up with its structure. A king or sovereign of some sort being a companion sounds unlikely, though it has been done before. It could also not be a companion, given this is just speculation, but it's interesting to see this landmass and hear this antagonistic voice, one that's not Solas.

Every Teased Companion for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf So Far

  • Varric Tethras
  • Antivan Crow
  • Someone from Rivain
  • A Grey Warden (Davrin)
  • Bellara (Not much is known beyond her name)
  • Concept Art also shows a female Qunari, someone with a green flaming skull for a head, and 7-8 companions in total.

Ultimately, it's an exciting trailer. The confirmation that a full reveal is coming in Summer 2024 does suggest that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf won't be at The Game Awards, which is a bit saddening, but it sounds like next year could be a great one for the franchise.
