BioWare confirmed that it was working on Dragon Age 4 back in 2018 as a follow-up to 2014's critically acclaimed Dragon Age: Inquisition. However, BioWare and EA have said very little about Dragon Age 4 since. However, EA does have an EA Play event later this summer, and many fans are hoping to get some information on Dragon Age 4 as part of the presentation. BioWare just recently released Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, so it would make sense for the studio to start giving information on what they are working on next. Hopefully, it will give fans some of what they are looking to see on Dragon Age 4.

While some Dragon Age fans have begun hoping for a remaster of the original Dragon Age trilogy, looking forward to what the series has in its future is a lot more exciting and full of possibilities. There is a lot about Dragon Age 4 that players want to know. Dragon Age: Inquisition left a lot of questions open for the Dragon Age series, especially after players completed its DLCs. There are dozens of different plot threads, character arcs, and changes to the world of Thedas that a Dragon Age 4 could answer for the series' numerous fans.

Dragon Age 4 Should Reveal New, Returning Characters at EA Play

dragon age 4 characters

The Dragon Age series has an immense cast of characters that are beloved by fans. During playthroughs, players build relationships with their companions, and a lot of the fun of diving into a new Dragon Age game is seeing familiar faces and what they have been up to since the last entry in the series. BioWare showing off some of the familiar characters that players can expect to run into during Dragon Age 4, even if it is just a tease, would be a great way to build excitement for the game. There are loads of Dragon Age characters that could make an appearance, and giving players even a small hint as towards who they can expect would go a long way.

Of course, a lot of the experience of a new Dragon Age game is meeting all the new additions to the cast as well. It would also be great for Dragon Age 4 to show off some of what players could expect from the new companions and enemies in the game as well. Introducing fans to some of the bigger companions would be another great way to build excitement, but it also would help the reveal build mystery surrounding Dragon Age 4's story and characters. The world of Dragon Age is massive, and can lead to countless great characters that are all unique from one, and Dragon Age 4 going to Tevinter could open up a lot of options for Dragon Age 4's characters and players.

Dragon Age 4 Should Tease Story at EA Play

One aspect of Dragon Age 4 that fans are dying to know about is how it will continue the series' story. There are many possible aspects of the series' world that Dragon Age 4 could explore. The Mage and Templar conflict, Dragon Age's Inquisition possibly returning, a new Blight, or even something entirely new and different are all possibilities. With how curious fans naturally are about Dragon Age 4's story, it would be great for the game's first showing to give players a look at what it might entail.

Since Dragon Age 4 has been confirmed to take place in the region of Tevinter, it would also be a good idea for the reveal to introduce fans to the game's setting a bit more. Dragon Age's Tevinter is an extremely nuanced and detailed setting that will likely take players a long time to familiarize themselves with. It is something entirely new for the series, and that could be exactly what Dragon Age 4 needs. Dragon Age 4 releasing on the new generation of consoles will really feel like a leap following Dragon Age: Inquisition. Showing off Tevinter rendered on powerful new hardware would be a great way to make Dragon Age 4 feel like the next step for the series.

Dragon Age 4 Gameplay at EA Play

It does seem unlikely that gameplay from Dragon Age 4 will be shown off at EA Play, but it would be a great benefit for fans if it was. There are a surprising amount of questions surrounding exactly how Dragon Age 4 is going to play when it releases, and a glimpse at gameplay would be a great way to clear it all up. One of the biggest questions surrounding the game's gameplay was the original plan for Dragon Age 4 to be a live service title. The plan was reportedly scrapped, but it does raise questions as to what the plan replacing it all entails.

Other questions about what form Dragon Age 4 will take come from just how much the series has changed over its lifespan. Dragon Age: Origins was a more traditional BioWare roleplaying game, while Dragon Age 2 became more action-oriented, and Dragon Age: Inquisition increased the scope to be a more grand open-world title. This has led many fans to wonder what they should expect from Dragon Age 4's combat and gameplay systems. It could revert back to the more traditional tactical combat of the first entry in the series, or it could innovate the series further and maybe even take constricting classes out of Dragon Age.

Regardless of what form Dragon Age 4 ends up taking it would be great for the game to make some sort of appearance at next month's EA Play event. Dragon Age fans have been waiting a long time for any information on the title. The reveal does not have to answer all of the fans' questions, and likely won't answer the more complicated ones like whether or not Dragon Age is done with time travel, but showing any aspect of the game is a promising enough start for now.
