When people think of Resident Evil Village, the towering Lady Dimitrescu is usually the first character to come to mind. But she is just the first of the four house leaders the protagonist, Ethan, must face in the game. The second, Donna Beneviento, may not have the kind of presence everyone's favorite tall lady vampire has, but her section of the game has been hailed as the scariest by far. During a recent Resident Evil Village stream, Dr Disrespect ventured into the Beneviento Manor and found out what terrifying surprises awaited him there.

After tangling with the franchise's new Lycan enemies and other disturbing creatures, the Beneviento Manor feels almost benign by comparison. Players soon find out this is all just a ruse. Shortly after exploring its basement, they are stripped of their weapons and items, leaving them with just their wits to survive. At one point, the lights go out and a grotesquely mutated baby-like creature stalks players. Dr Disrespect's first encounter with this thing did not go well but it did lead to some hilarious reactions from the streamer.

As it crawls towards players, making distorted infant-like noises from its gaping mouth, it's easy to lose one's nerve. With no clear indication of where to go, the best option is just to run. Unfortunately, Dr Disrespect took the one route he shouldn't and backed himself into a dead end. Soon after realizing this, he tries to backtrack only to come face to face with the creature, who proceeds to swallow him whole. He hams up his reaction afterward, but there's no hiding that initial scare.

After all the puzzles and spooky adventures downstairs, players are treated to a much more simple, less unnerving boss fight with Donna Beneviento back on the first floor. In fact, it's less of a fight and more like a game of hide-and-seek. It lacks the pizzaz of other boss encounters in the game, but after everything players just went through with the baby monster, they'll welcome something a bit more relaxed.

Speaking of babies, the mod community has been having a bit of fun with the Winters' baby, who plays a significant role in the game's story. They released a bizarre but humorous mod that turns Ethan's baby into Chris Redfield. Following that, another mod was made that switches this around and puts the baby's head on Chris Redfield, which is downright creepy.

It's only been a week since Resident Evil Village was released, so players are still diving in to see what the latest game in the series has to offer. The franchise may have strayed from its survival horror roots, but the section with the mysterious Donna Beneviento channels much of what made the earlier games so great. It offers a very spooky atmosphere and genuine scares, as Dr Disrespect can now attest to.

Resident Evil Village is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
