A former Twitch employee has come forward with claims stating that Guy Beahm, better known as Dr Disrespect, was fully aware that he was sending inappropriate messages to a minor. Controversy surrounding Dr Disrespect's 2020 Twitch ban has reached an apex, as questions about the streamer's alleged awareness have possibly been answered.
Back in 2020, Dr Disrespect was abruptly banned from Twitch. At the time, there was no official reason given for this ban, but last week, a former Twitch staffer made shocking claims that the streamer was banned for sending sexually explicit messages to a minor. The messages were sent via Whispers, Twitch's version of private messaging, leading to the streamer's permanent ban from the platform. Beahm himself even admitted to the inappropriate messages, but claimed that there was no true intention behind what was said between him and the minor.

The claims state that this admission of being a minor did not deter Beahm, as the streamer continued to send sexually graphic messages. Although Dr Disrespect admitted to messaging a minor, he claimed that these messages weren't to be taken seriously despite his statement that the messages "sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate."

Gaming accessory manufacturer Turtle Beach and developer Midnight Society immediately cut ties with the streamer following the allegations. Even his partnership with the San Francisco 49ers has been terminated.
