Dota 2 is one of the most popular MOBAs in the world and is often regarded as one of the best esports games available to date, with events such as The International (with a prize pool upwards of 17 million dollars), and Diretide taking place, its no wonder that Valve has been exciting fans and newcomers alike now more than ever.

Now with over 100 Heroes to choose from, Dota 2 has its fair share of cosmetics and with Diretide finally making its return, players finally have the excuse they’ve been waiting for to show off their spooky skins! Halooween might be over, but these skins are awesome all year round.

10 Candy Cat

Dota 2 Candy Cat Pudge skin

What Dota 2 list would be complete without mentioning everyone’s favorite (or perhaps not so favorite) Hero “Pudge” at least once? Coming from the 2020’s Hallowed Chest of the Diretide, Candy Cat was the perfect skin to rock for this year’s Halloween season. It’s got everything from pumpkins, to whiskers, a belly full of candy, and a cat’s tail to boot! So, what’s not to like?

This set also comes with a custom Candy Cat Weapon, which goes along great with Pudge’s signature Meat Hook ability making it the perfect weapon to share in this wonderful Halloween spirit.

9 Arcane Infestation

Dota 2 Broodmother Arcane Infestation skin

While Broodmother’s default skin may perhaps be frightening enough (being a giant terrifying spider and all), it wouldn’t be Halloween unless there are costumes involved, right? This set gives Broodmother a rather sinister-looking skeletal face along with a jack-o-lantern-Esque abdomen and candles scattered throughout Broodmother’s body, thankfully Broodmother’s webs aren’t actually flammable.

On top of all that, this set comes with Arcane Infestation Spiderlings, giving Broodmother’s Spiderlings a matching outfit, making them just as creepy looking. Arcane Infestation also comes from the 2020 Hallowed Chest of the Diretide.

8 Manifold Paradox

Dota 2 Phantom Assassin Manifold Paradox skin

Phantom Assassin has plenty of interesting cosmetics to choose from, however, very few even begin to compare to Phantom Assassin’s Manifold Paradox weapon skin. Released in 2014 during the Nemesis Assassin Event, this wearable weapon skin has some cool selectable style choices that are unlocked through a point system where points are earned by winning games while playing as Phantom Assassin.

The default style has the weapons surrounded in a ghoulish green flame while the subsequent styles begin to replace the green flames for a more demonic red-looking flame, giving Phantom Assassin a truly unique look.

7 Arms Of Desolation

Dota 2 Arms of Desolation Fiend Skin

Shadow Fiend’s Arms of Desolation skin undeniably emphasizes his demonic appearance as well as complements his already terrifying presence. Released in 2015 in the Immortal Treasure 2, this wearable cosmetic is sure to send shivers down your opponent's spine.

With glowing red sparks projecting from Shadow Fiends' arms, this skin reinforces Shadow Fiend as a definite force to be reckoned with. Furthermore, this skin just scratches the surface and quite simply begs players to combine them with other Shadow Fiend cosmetics to make something truly monstrous!

6 Burning Fiend

Dota 2 Doom Burning Fiend weapon skin

Burning Fiend is a weapon skin for Doom, released in 2014 in Treasure of the Emerald Dragon, replacing his standard glowing red sword for something more… flammable.

This weapon's skin seems to mainly be a mixture of bones, molten hot rocks, and of course fire… lots of fire. Much like many of the other weapon skins, this cosmetic is only the tip of the iceberg, giving players a chance to combine it with the countless other doom cosmetics that Dota 2 has to offer.

5 Master Necromancer

Dota 2 master necromancer Necrophos skin

Master Necromancer works best when combined as a complete set for Necrophos, giving this hero a truly villainous and beastly look. This skin was released in 2016 in Warhammer: Treasure of the Old World and boasts Necrophos as the true Pope of Pestilence.

The glowing green hue along with the various skulls attached to Necrophos’ weapon and robes adds to this Hero’s necrotic aura. The Scythe of the Master Necromancer weapon skin is quite possibly the best part of this set, replacing Necrophos’ default weapon with a much more menacing-looking scythe.

4 Horns Of The Betrayer

Dota 2 horns of the betrayer Lion skin

This wearable head cosmetic gives Lion a fearsome-looking stare as well as massive and fiery goat horns, possibly making this hero the first ever demon goat/lion hybrid! This skin was released in 2019 in the Immortal Treasure 2 which was obtainable in Dota 2’s The International 2019 Battle Pass.

This cosmetic also adds a unique visual alteration to Lion’s Earth Spike ability, changing the standard rock spikes into molten rocks with bursts of fire spewing around them as they travel across the screen.

3 Transversant Soul

Dota 2 Transversant soul Spectre skin

Transversant Soul is a wearable shoulder cosmetic for Spectre that was released in 2017 in Immortal Treasure 3. This cosmetic not only gives Spectre flashy-looking shoulders but also changes the visual effect of one of her abilities, Spectral Dagger, which leaves a pulsating purple void trail rather than the standard black one.

The ambient effect of Spectre is also changed, showing more void-like effects coming from the center of her torso while idle. Fans of this hero who happen to own the Phantom Advent Bundle can also enjoy using the added styles of this cosmetic.

2 Maraxiform’s Fate Bundle

Dota 2 Maraxiform’s Fate Bundle Clinkz skin

Maraxiform’s Fate Bundle includes Maraxiform’s Fate and Maraxiform’s Fallen, both of which are cosmetics for Clinkz and were released in 2019 in Immortal Treasure 3. Maraxiform’s Fate turns Clinkz's standard weapon into a fiery drooling demonic bow, while Maraxiform’s Fallen changes the summons of his Burning Army ability from skeletal archers to fiery demonic archers, which seem to be much more fitting for an ability with a name like Burning Army.

These cosmetics are much more in line with Clinkz's already demonic-looking appearance and complement him in a much better fashion than his standard set ever did.

1 Ghastly Nocturne

Dota 2 Batrider Ghastly Nocturne skin

What’s scarier than a man riding a giant bat? A man riding a giant cyborg bat of course! Ghastly Nocturne is a wearable cosmetic for Batrider that was released in 2018 in Immortal Treasure 3, and the name alone sparks fear.

This cosmetic changes the appearance of Batrider’s mount from the standard bat that most players are familiar with into something that gives off more of a steampunk/back-from-the-dead kind of vibe. This cosmetic also alters the visual effect of Batrider’s Firefly ability.
