As anime gains more attention with American audiences, developers and publishers like Bandai Namco are devoting more attention to games based off of these Japanese properties. After the success of fighting games like My Hero One's Justice 2, Bandai Namco is looking to new gameplay mechanics with Doraemon: Story of Seasons. After its initial release to the Nintendo Switch and PCs, the game will be arriving to the PlayStation 4.

In a recent press release, Bandai Namco announced that Doraemon: Story of Seasons would be released on the PlayStation 4 on September 4, 2020. According to the game's latest trailer, players will be able to take control of protagonist Nobita Nobi as he grows crops and builds upon the town that surrounds his farm.

Based off of a classic children's anime that dates back to 1969, Doraemon: Story of Seasons is also a crossover with the Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon franchise. The popular series allowed players to renovate an old farm, and went on to influence the indie hit Stardew Valley.

Hopefully, Doraemon: Story of Seasons' latest release will engage a community of new players. For PS4 players who are unable to enjoy Animal Crossing: New Horizons because of platform exclusivity (or due to Switch reseller bots), this farming game might satisfy players craving an idyllic experience.

Doraemon: Story of Seasons is available now for the Nintendo Switch and PC. It will be available for the PS4 on September 4, 2020.
