Don't Starve Together is the multiplayer version of the survival game Don't Starve. This game puts players in a mysterious world known as "The Constant" and forces them to survive by any means necessary. It's not easy, but players can gather all the necessary items they need to make it in The Constant and are tasked with seeing how many days they can make it through before their character ultimately perishes.

The game has a variety of characters, each of which has its own perks and weaknesses, and the game runs on a seasonal format. By default, the game starts out in the fall, then goes to the winter, then spring, then summer, and back around to the fall. Each season has its own bonuses and challenges, meaning that players really need to think ahead and prepare for the next coming season in order to ensure they'll be able to make it. To see the best ways to prepare for each season, keep reading!

10 All Seasons: Find Somewhere Good To Live

Before you really get started in the game, you have to find somewhere to build a base. But don't settle down as soon as you and your friends that you're playing with land in The Constant! Spend a few days making temporary bases with campfires and just explore the world for a while. Gather all the resources and food you can while you're exploring and find somewhere good to build a base.

You'll want to make it semi-close to all the resources you're going to need. Having your base close to beefalo, rabbits, a forest, and rocks is definitely a good idea, but it's not always possible to have all of them nearby. Prioritize food over everything else - you can go out into the world to collect stone and logs if you need to.

9 All Seasons: Prepare For Seasonal Mobs

Each season will bring special seasonal mobs. For instance, Deerclops will spawn toward the end of the winter, so you're going to want to be prepared for it to show up and stop it from destroying your camp. The best way to handle Deerclops is to keep it away from your camp and fight it there. Go out as far as you can before you get cold and place a sign or other structure, that will attract the Deerclops spawn and you can handle it without having your base smashed.

The other seasons will bring other mobs, too. Everyone has different ways of handling these massive enemies and bosses and although you can read about them and read other people's strategies, the best way to learn how to handle them is through experience.

8 Winter: Make Warm Clothes

The biggest struggle in winter is staying warm. Before winter starts, collect rabbits, beefalo fur, or catcoon tails in order to craft warm clothes that will help keep your character's body heat up. Although you'll likely spend a lot of your winter near your fire pit at home, you'll still have to go out eventually.

There are a couple of characters, Wilson and Webber, that have the ability to grow a beard and one, Willow, can set fires. These can help keep you warm, but you're still going to want to make warm clothes instead of relying on methods like that as they're not as effective and can be destructive.

7 Winter: Craft A Thermal Stone

You're going to want to craft a Thermal Stone as soon as you're settled somewhere with a good camp. You can either have everyone you're playing with make their own or, if you're really strapped for resources, just share one and leave the camp in shifts.

The Thermal Stone is a survival item that can be put by the fire and will heat up. When it's in your character's inventory, it'll keep you warm for a period of time and you'll be safe to head out to collect resources or go hunting. Don't toss it out after winter ends! During the summer, it can be put in an icebox or near an Endothermic Fire to cool down.

6 Spring: Make A Crockpot And Icebox

During the spring, you might find hunting more difficult, but at least your farms will be growing again after a long winter with no crops. Spring is beefalo mating season, meaning that getting up close and personal with a group of these animals can be dangerous as they're aggressive.

Plus, the rain during the spring can be a real drain on your sanity, so you'll likely find yourself trying to manage your sanity more than in other seasons. Cooking various recipes is a good way to help manage your sanity, so you'll need a crockpot. And, in order to keep your food fresher longer, you'll need an icebox.

5 Spring: Make A Lightning Rod

Because the spring brings a ton of rain, it also brings lightning storms. These lightning strikes can hit anything in your camp and can be completely disastrous if it sets something on fire. We've all had a chest get hit by lightning and lost everything inside.

Before spring starts, craft a lightning rod and place it in your camp. This rod will attract lightning and keep it away from your precious resources, so you won't have to worry about losing them all in a fire.

4 Spring: Stockpile Food

Remember that icebox we suggested you get before spring starts? You're going to want to make sure it's seriously full. Before and during the spring, you're going to want to start stockpiling food. Both ingredients and pre-cooked meals are great to put in your icebox.

The rain of the spring drains your sanity and it also makes things slippery, unless you're playing Wort. This can make it hard to go hunting and dropping your weapon in the middle of a fight is no fun for anyone.

3 Spring: Make Farms

Making farms is likely something you took care of in the fall because they're a good way to get food. But in case you didn't, start making them before spring starts so you'll have crops growing through the entire season.

Even though those seeds may make a quick snack if you're tight on food, make sure that you stash them away in an icebox and don't just eat them. Those seeds can be planted in your farms and will grow you precious crops for recipes. If you feed these fruits and vegetables to a bird in a cage, you can get seeds for that specific ingredient!

2 Summer: Make An Ice FlingoMatic

The hardest part of dealing with the summer is the heat. Not only is it tough on your character, but it can also cause random fires to break out. While this can be handy if you're short on charcoal, those fires can also start at your camp and destroy everything.

You've likely already crafted an Alchemy Engine for your base, so before summer starts, you're going to want to put it to good use by crafting an Ice Flingomatic. Keep it fueled up with logs, rot, or Nitre and it'll put out fires as soon as they start. Make sure that you collect the ice to craft one during the spring before it all melts!

1 Summer: Find The Oasis

Another major challenge of the summer is the fact that the Antlion will get angry and demand gifts. If you don't manage to find Antlion and hand over those gifts, this giant will destroy the ground around your camp, leaving it unsightly and difficult to walk on.

Before the summer starts, keep an eye out for the oasis. This area will be in the middle of a desert and will look like a big, dry mud puddle during the other seasons. In the summer, you can fish there to get the goggles you need to see through the dust storms and find Antlion.
