The Division 2, Massive Entertainment's post-apocalyptic online action-RPG, has recently received its first major expansion. Warlords of New York returns the story to the big apple, as well as adding a host of new weapons, gear, and enemies to The Division 2's post-pandemic streets.

Perhaps the most dangerous enemies in the game are the Hunters, mysterious, masked killers who collect the watches of the Agents that they've defeated. Each of these Hunters is unique and drops a copy of their personal mask for a skillful player who manages to defeat them. With the release of Warlords of New York there is a new Hunter in town, but before players can fight him, first they have to find him.

Hunting the Hunter

Tracking down the new Hunter is complex enough for an easter egg, and it took the hard work of the Division 2 Secrets subreddit to work out how to find him. Players looking to take him on should first head to the new Memorial Plaza in lower Manhattan. In the middle of the area is an island with several lamps and four flag-less flagpoles.

To summon the Hunter players must light these lamps and return each of the flags to its pole. Lighting the lamps is as simple as dropping a decoy, and players can do it by interacting with the small generator on the island. The generator can only be used at night, so players should make sure the sun has only just set when heading over to Memorial Plaza.

Flying Four Flags

With the generator lit, players will next need to track down and return the four flags, which are scattered around the area on all versions of the game. The first flag can be found nearby, just behind the control point to the south of the plaza. The second is further along the coast, toward the east, on the end of a pier.

Afterward, players should head north-east to the nearest control point, and find the flag on the low roof across the street from it. The final flag can be found just to the south of the safe house, and north of the earlier pier, but can only be accessed when the water level has been lowered. Once all flags have been collected, return to the island and raise them all, then light the generator again. Presuming it's still night, this will light the lamps and summon the Hunter for a tough fight, so make sure to pack the most powerful Exotics.

The Division 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
