Disney characters, from across the entertainment giant's countless franchises, are fastening their seatbelts and starting their engines as Disney Speedstorm propels itself onto the scene. Offering a fresh take on the famous characters fans know and love, Disney's latest racing project offers plenty of bang for the buck.

Disney Speedstorm features an 18-strong cast from fan-favorite films such as Beauty and the Beast, Monsters Inc., Pirates of the Caribbean, and many more in a kart racer that pits iconic personalities against one another in a plethora of Disney-inspired locations. While the game can't cater for the countless number of memorable characters, many familiar faces appear as supporting crew members. Many of these crew members share bonus potential, but a few of them stand out as the best choices to bring the most out of their drivers.

10 SMRT-1

The SMRT-1 crew member statistics from Disney Speedstorm

A prominent figure in Disney's secondary theme park Epcot, SMRT-1 is a robot personality that can communicate with the park's many guests. This rare crew member is affiliated with Walt Disney World, meaning he is available for Figment to help boost his attributes and performance on the track.

As a rare crew member, SMRT-1 enhances two different statistical categories for Figment, providing a boost of up to +600 in both top speed and handling. In addition to stat bonuses, SMRT-1 also supports Figment's loot points, adding 30% to his total to make unlocking extras a more efficient process, and adds power to his Rush skill to give him an edge over the competition.

9 Maurice

The Maurice crew member statistics from Disney Speedstorm

The father of Beauty and the Beast's Belle, Maurice was the eccentric inventor that found himself captive in the Beast's castle, until Belle came to rescue him. To make up for his daughter saving him from the clutches of the Beast, the loving father has offered Belle a helping hand on the racetrack.

Maurice is an epic-level crew member who is exclusive to Belle in Disney Speedstorm. By adding the inventor to Belle's crew, she receives a 5-15% increase in all stats,depending on the level Maurice is. He also enables Belle to start her races with the Cloak starting skill and an added power bonus to her Enchanted Mirror unique skill.

8 Kaa

Like many adaptations of serpents in films and games, Kaa is a difficult snake to trust. Unsuccessfully attempting to hypnotize and eat Mowgli in The Jungle Book on a number of occasions, the python perhaps is looking to make amends as a potential crew member in Disney Speedstorm.

Kaa is available to be employed as a crew member for both Mowgli and Baloo, and offers bonuses in multiple areas. Kaa will increase either racer's top speed and acceleration by up to +600 at his highest level, as well as a loot bonus of up to 30% to help players acquire racers, gear, and customization resources faster. To top it all off, Kaa adds additional power to the Cloak skill.

7 Dreamfinder

Supporting Walt Disney World character Figment, the Dreamfinder is the owner of the playable purple dragon in Disney Speedstorm. Making appearances in Disney's theme parks, the Dreamfinder and his dragon are often tasked with guiding eager guests through the realms of imagination in the Journey to Imagination ride.

Exclusive to the Figment character, the Dreamfinder gives his dragon assistant a bonus of up to 15% across all of his car's stats. To give Figment an edge over his competition, he also gifts him the Hack skill at the start of each race and adds power to his Spark of Imagination unique skill.

6 Lao, Ying, & Chien Po

One who earns the trust of Lao, Ying, and Chien Po is stuck with them for good, like it or not. In the 1998 classic Mulan, the title character does just this and forms an iron bond with the three best friends as they do their best in the war against the Huns. Now that Shan Yu is vanquished, the trio make themselves available as supporting crew members in Disney Speedstorm.

Available to both Mulan and Li Shang, Lao, Ying and Chien Po provide handling and combat advantages of up to +600. They also help collect up to 30% more Loot Points, and allow both Mulan characters to utilize a more powerful Fire skill.

5 Zeus

The father of the famous Greek figure that inspired the 1997 film Hercules, Zeus takes a break from his duties as the god of thunder and ruler of Olympus to get his hands dirty maintaining race cars. As a crew member, Zeus supports the handling and boost abilities of the cars.

Zeus is available as a crew member for both Hercules and Megara, as fellow characters of the Hercules film. When included in the crew of either character, Zeus increases handling and boost potential by up to +600 and enables up to 30% more loot points to be collected throughout the race. Zeus also provides a Boost skill at the start of the race to give either compatible racer a chance to get ahead of the pack early.

4 Boo

The once pint-sized toxic terror of Monstropolis, Boo is available as a crew member to help boost Sulley's stats, although the toddler's knowledge regarding car mechanics is questionable. She is exclusive to "Kitty" and offers him a boost across the board to reflect the unbreakable bond the two characters share in Monsters Inc.

Boo grants Sulley a 5-15% stat boost across all areas when added to his crew, and enables him to start each race with a Fire skill equipped. She also has a positive impact on the monster's unique skill, adding more power to his Fearsome Roar.

3 Chip & Dale

Before Alvin put his band together, there was another pair of mischievous chipmunks in the Mickey Mouse franchise showcasing an inseparable bond with one another as they get themselves in and out of sticky situations together. Combining their wit and resourcefulness, Chip and Dale are available for the Mickey Mouse and Friends characters as crew members.

When employed by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, or Goofy, Chip and Dale provide statistical boosts in top-speed and acceleration, whilst also granting an additional bonus in loot points. To increase their threat on the racetrack, any of the eligible characters will also receive a power bonus for the Shot skill.

2 Cogsworth

Whether in human form or as the clock he became following the Enchantress' curse, Cogsworth is the epitome of a loyal servant. Despite his strict ways, he always has others' best interests at heart, which translates well as a crew member in Disney Speedstorm.

The Prince's devoted right-hand clock is available for both Belle and Beast, and provides bonuses in both top-speed and combat of up to +600. In addition to this, he grants up to 30% more loot points and enables both characters to make use of a much more powerful Hack skill.

1 Bagheera

The Bagheera crew member statistics from Disney Speedstorm

Since first discovering an abandoned man-cub that he entrusted to the wolves, Bagheera has always kept a watchful eye on Mowgli. A key character in The Jungle Book, the black panther teams up with a fellow mentor to Mowgli, Baloo, as his exclusive crew member in Disney Speedstorm.

With Bagheera as part of Baloo's crew, the sloth bear receives a bonus 5-15% across all stats related to the car's performance. As a sweetener, Baloo also starts the race with the Shield skill and is granted a power boost for his Bare Necessities unique skill.
