Disney+ offers a wide range of films and television shows for fans to binge, but certain changes have been made to some of those programs. One viewer noticed that in particular, the 1984 film Splash has seen some unexpected censorship on the Disney+ platform.

In the final scene of Splash, starring Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks, Hannah's character Madison makes a return to the sea after spending time exploring life on solid ground. In the original scene, as Madison makes a dash for the ocean, her exposed rear end is briefly visible. However, Disney+ has censored this out, but instead of blurring or zooming in to prevent the exposure, it chose to do so with some peculiar hair CG.

The CG extends the length of Madison's hair considerably, using it as a way of blocking the view of her rear. However, the CG isn't particularly stellar, and at certain points it almost look as though she's wearing a blonde fur miniskirt as she dashes away. The film originally received a PG rating in part due to the brief flash of partial nudity.

While it's unlikely that many will be bothered by this minor form of censorship, it remains to be seen if other films on the platform receive the same treatment. Disney+ is seen by many as a streaming service that's appropriate for kids, which may be part of the reason why the change was made. Even so, there's still plenty of content containing violence on the service which has been left intact.

Splash released in 1984 and is available now on Disney+.
