One of the coolest things about the recent toys-to-life trend going around the industry is the ability for fans to have a tangible collectible that interacts with some of their favorite video games. Skylanders may have pioneered the genre, but Disney Infinity brought in iconic characters that have been charming audiences (in some cases) for decades.

It's for that reason that no one was surprised when the company announced a follow up to the original called Disney Infinity 2.0. Thus far the game has had a very Marvel-specific theme, and all of the campaigns will revolve around various comic-centric adventures, but that hasn't stopped Disney and Avalanche Software from adding more traditional characters to the mix.

The latest batch of characters revealed for the title consisted of Marvel villains, but the likes of Maleficent and Merida are also present and accounted for in the forthcoming iteration, and now two more prolific characters will making their way to the sequel's Toy Box mode in the form of Aladdin and Jasmine.

The infamous street rat has been one of the more adored characters fans have wanted to see in Disney Infinity, and they'll finally be getting their wish in the next iteration. Jasmine, the popular Disney princess, will also be by Aladdin's side as they get into mischief outside of the fabled Agrabah.

Of course, those looking to recreate the land in which these characters originated, they'll be able to do so with a handful of new Power Discs that allow them to change the land and skyline of the Toy Box. Heck, there's even a disc that'll allow fans to ride Carpet — Aladdin's mute and loveable companion.

While both of those characters are great additions to Disney Infinity, we can't help but wonder one thing: Where is Genie at?! Hopefully our concerns are addressed in the near future.

What do you think of Aladdin and Jasmine joining Disney Infinity? What other characters would you like to see come to to the game?
