Disney Dreamlight Valley gets its first update today, and it includes Scar from The Lion King along with Halloween content and more. Fans of the game have access to the first major update since the game’s release on September 6, which is available for Founder’s Pack purchasers and Xbox Game Pass players.

There had been many teases of the Scar content for Disney Dreamlight Valley, and with the release of the update, there’s much more info available. The Sunlit Plateau biome has a new look with the addition of Scar, requiring the upgraded pickaxe to complete his questline.

The “Scar’s Kingdom” update doesn’t come with just the character, though. There is a lot of other new content that includes new Halloween-themed items. These items are available for purchase inside the Scrooge Shop, with other items able to be crafted. Developer Gameloft also noted that there are other Halloween surprises to come for the Disney Dreamlight Valley craftable and purchasable items.

For those that have made all the progress they could, there’s good news. With the new questline for Scar comes an additional event following the Pixar Fest event. The new event is called Villain Star Path, which requires a lot of interactions with the villains of Disney Dreamlight Valley including Ursula and Mother Gothel.

Gameloft has shown that it's listening to the community, as well. Several suggestions have been made by fans to improve the game, with many of these going into implementation today. This includes fixing familiar Disney Dreamlight Valley bugs that reduce the intensity of the lightning, fixing “The Spirits of Nature” quest, and allowing plants in the rain to be watered more effectively, just to name a few.

One surprising part of the update that has had a lot of fans breathing a sigh of relief is changing Donald Duck’s demeanor. Though he’s known for being clumsy and quick to anger, Donald’s attitude had been extreme in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Gameloft noted that he won’t trip and start screaming nearly as much as he had prior to the update.

The game has been a big hit thus far, and these community-driven changes show that Gameloft has been listening and caring about the long-term health of Disney Dreamlight Valley. The game is still in early access, so it’s promising to see more new content added before its full release next year. With so many reaching the end of the questlines before the first update, this news couldn’t come at a better time.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
